This belt has classic styling with a really cool texture. It is described as being made of genuine leather, but I am unable to confirm that. The textured side does have a real suede look and feel, but is it genuine leather or synthetic? I am usually a good judge, but in this case I just can't tell. There is no leather scent, but the as mentioned it does look and feel like suede. I'm just not sure. A backing has been sewn to the belt and it is somewhat stiff and plastic feeling, so I feel confident the back of the belt is not leather. There is no marking on the back of the belt as to what it is made of. So, I'll just have to leave it at that, I can't tell whether it is real suede. The pattern cut into the surface has sort of a woven look. It's a nice texture that adds some interest to an otherwise classic, plain belt. I chose it in basic black, and the silver buckle looks great against the black. The buckle is smooth, polished metal. Note that there are two keeper loops to hold the excess belt strap in place and keep it from flapping around. One is attached to the belt, but the other is not. While this lets you slide the loop up and down the belt as needed to hold the strap down, if you hang the belt on a hook for storage, the second keeper loop can slide right off. Just something to look out for and keep in mind when storing your belt. I chose the belt in size 32. I measured it, and from the top end to the first (smallest) hole the distance is 29 inches, and the distance to the last (largest) hole is 35 inches, so it will fit a good variety of waist sizes other than only 32 inches. Overall, this belt is great looking and has classic styling with a bit of a twist in the belt's texture. I'm hoping it is real suede but I just can't tell for sure.
