I use LED bulbs wherever I can but I have a couple of small bedside lamps where I appreciate the soft glow of an old incandescent style bulb...which sadly are becoming extinct. The light from this bulb is harsh in comparison. It's a nice bulb too be sure, but not a replacement for a 40 watt incandescent as the description suggests. Younger folks will never come to enjoy or appreciate the light older candescent bulbs provided. I was able to find a 25 watt incandescent today so hopefully it will provide the ambience I am looking for as this bulb does not. I did give it four stars though since it is a nice bulb and good value, just not what I was looking for or expected. Read more
