GEX 63 Heavy Duty Mannequin Tripod Stand for Wig Cosmetology Training Practice Doll Manikin Head Tripod Wig Stand

I want to write this review for not only the product, but the wonderful customer service that I received from GEX so that anyone questioning whether or not this Amazon seller stands by their product and warranty can be well informed! I purchased my original tripod from GEX via Amazon in January (2019), but did not get around to unboxing and using it until this past month (August 2019) .....don’t judge me I order A LOT & get full use of my prime membership 🙈😂. In any case, upon first use the tripod neck snapped off. Obviously I was shocked and upset bc I knew it was outside of the return timeframe for Amazon. I tried to pry the broken piece off, I toyed with the idea of super glue, but ultimately I ended up chalking up to a loss and resigned myself to purchasing a new one in the pink color (this one) when I returned from vacay....which I did and I love! However, upon purchase I received the email reminding me of the 1 year warranty & decided to contact the company regarding the broken one that had given up on. I sent a text to the warranty contact number and received a timely response. I was greeted with empathy and concern for my problem with the product. After an attempt to help me trouble shoot the issue to no avail the customer service person happily made good on my warranty and shipped me a replacement tripod without a problem & free of charge which arrived in the same 2 day timeframe as my prime delivery. Customer service is a dying art and I’m grateful anytime I receive stellar customer service and when a company stands by their product without making the customer jump through hoops for a replacement. I now have my replacement and this new pink unit and I love them both & will happily be buying another soon!! The tripods themselves are sturdy, easy to assemble and use, and made of quality parts.....not that lightweight hollow/bendable aluminum. This is by far the best iteration of their tripod wig stand that GEX has come out with. I'll be the first to admit that I am not exactly gentle as a wig stylist. Between that, and the high amount of use my wig stand needs to withstand, I can confirm that this stand lives up to it's "Heavy Duty" description. Read more

When i recieved it i was very pleased with how well it was packaged, there was literally no assembly required. I was a little disappointed with how short it was length wise but figured I'd make due since i have been using a beauty supply mannequin head to construct my wigs between my legs which was back breakingthen BOOM i realized the latches on the bottom were to extend the legs...TWICE! I was able to extend it to the perfect height. The travel bag was an added bonus. This thing is super sturdy & my cork head fit just right. No more wobbling while making my units. At first I loved this tripod. It was sturdy and was compact so traveling with it was easy. I was busy teaching at the time so I used it for about 2 months daily then put it up for a while. Pull it back out to do some certifications and now the leg is sliding down and I don't know how to fix it. This is my 2nd tripod (the 1st one was from a different company) BUT I don't want to have to continue to purchase tripods every few years. Overall good tripod. love item; only problem is the bag it came in the zipper was ill stitched, as i was looking at item to determine if there were any defects. the strap came apart from bag, and zipper fell off. Working currently with seller to take care of the problem. Unsure if i will need to return for refund and repurchase or if items will simply be replaced; but I feel it still deserve 5 stars, until I am totally not satisfied with products and service. I'd recommend this tripod. I don't think the cheaper versions will give you the look and feel of this outstanding product. Tripod was sturdy, well made, solid design, metal parts, not a lot of plastic. grips on feet, adjusting hinge for head to fit on, several heights, no odor, looks professional, fast ship.
