To me this game feels like a weird amalgam of combat and rhythm-action. There's a cadence to playing it that takes practice to get used to. When you're in the zone, the music and the action all combine into some of the coolest sounds and visuals you'll see in a video game. When you're out of step it can be super irritating getting destroyed over and over and over by a simple enemy. The story is not essential to the gameplay but it is interesting on it's own and I think it adds greatly to the experience. In a world where game publishers are increasingly pushing the boundaries of depriving players of ownership through mandatory downloads and the like, it's nice to know that this game is completely playable from the disc. My PS5 has never been online and I didn't have any problems enjoying this game. Read more

The gameplay is very repetitive and fast paced. Also you will probably have to change the default controls. The sensitivity is extremely high and the gameplay is fast past and almost rhythmic. It actually reminds me of guitar hero in a weird way. Youβre constantly running and going fast and if you commit to it and spend lots of time on it youβll get really good at it. The visuals also look good at first but doesnβt have much variety and kind of turns bland to look at rather quickly. But I got it on a sale for a pretty good deal so i think itβs still worth a try Read more

As an avid fan of fast-paced, action-packed games, I was excited to get my hands on Ghostrunner for PlayStation 5. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The game's futuristic setting and sleek design are a treat for the eyes, but it's the gameplay that truly shines. Ghostrunner is all about speed, agility, and precision. You play as a cybernetically-enhanced ninja, slicing through enemies and obstacles with ease thanks to your trusty katana and grappling hook. The controls are incredibly responsive, which is essential for a game that requires split-second decision-making and lightning-fast reflexes. And speaking of reflexes, Ghostrunner is no cakewalk. The difficulty level is high, but it's also fair. Each death feels like a learning experience, and every successful run is incredibly satisfying. One of my favorite aspects of Ghostrunner is its soundtrack. The electronic beats and pulsing basslines perfectly complement the game's fast-paced action, and the overall sound design is top-notch. If you're a fan of games like Mirror's Edge, DOOM, or Superhot, Ghostrunner is definitely worth checking out. It's a thrilling ride from start to finish, and the PlayStation 5 version takes full advantage of the console's hardware to deliver an experience that is both visually stunning and buttery-smooth. Overall, I highly recommend Ghostrunner to anyone who loves a good challenge and a rush of adrenaline. Just be prepared to die a few times (or a lot) before you master the game's mechanics. Read more
