The lubricating strip definitely helps, and the pivoting head makes it easy to get around tricky spots like the jawline and under the chin. Each razor lasts me about a week’s worth of shaves before it starts to dull, which is decent for a disposable Read more

Altho I poked fun at the Mach 3 when it first came on the market, it's become my favorite of the cartridge razors--I find it nearly impossible to cut myself with this blade & I still get a close shave. Plus, you can also use the much more moderately priced "Gillette 3" blades which fit on the same handle. (I also use a "Blade Buddy" sharpener after each shave & dry the blade against terry cloth and get MANY more shaves out of my carts than I used to). But speaking of the handle, it's a shame Gillette has opted to now make it out of plastic instead of metal, like the original. I find it too lightweight--feels like a disposable. Fortunately, there are 3rd party vendors that make some nice (if somewhat pricey) metal handles to fill the gap. Read more
After, I don't know how long, I have decided to replace the handle of my Mach 3 razor. I literally don't know how long I've owned the original, but it probably goes back at least 17 years to a time before my first wife. To be honest, the thing was still it perfect working order, but it was beginning to build up corrosion on the sides (like a 100-year old barnacle) so I decided to get a new one. Also, it came with another blade which I can add to my original collection of 20 blades I purchased a year or so ago. With this handle and these blades, I should be good to go for shaving well into my retirement (I am 47 currently btw) as I have made an annual ritual of retiring my blades every year around my birthday (even though they are still perfectly good). I really don't understand how Gillete can still be in business with a product like this that seems to last forever. Read more
I've been through many razors in my shaving life and this continues to be the best for my beard. My old base that I had for a decade or so got stolen/lost so I immediately replaced it. This razor is great, it is comfortable, leaves my face and neck smooth, and no nicks. Compared to the newer razors with 4 or 5 blades, this works so much better because my facial hair doesn't clog the gaps between the blades almost immediately. I can easily get a good shave with this and it lasts for a decent amount of time. Read more
The media could not be loaded. Blades won’t last sharp long enough and when they first start off the gum at the top of the blades gets like jelly and if used with shaving cream or anything like that it’ll slide a little too much, it works great though for booty hairs or other private areas, i got it cause i had a bunch of other blades for this specific handle, but its too expensive if you ask me and the blades don’t last a lot. (maybe 3-4 uses and the sharpness is lost, not completely but it does start pulling) Read more
