I have purchased many nail clippers for my dogs nails, these work great on her nails. I have always had an issue where the nail clippers are not strong enough for her nails and they will split her nails , these are heavy and sturdy so they make it easier to clip her nails and they do not split them. Absolutely the best, most comfortable and realistic to use, nail clippers for large dogs. They're smooth, one pass on each nail, no re-doing jagged nails. The money i have dumped into nail trimmers that have ultimately traumatized my almost 13 yr old pitty. He did okay for years and as he's aged, he enjoys the task far less.. he ran from these as soon as I took them out of the slim box it arrived in (which was practical and packaged well). Once I was able to get him calm, I was so anxious awaiting him to scream or turn up his lip. I was shocked at how smoothly these clippers went through his big, thick, curved nails that have grown far too long these past 2 months. He immediately lost his marbles but began to relax more than usual with his old expensive "professional " clippers.. These look very similar to a large cuticle nipper or toenail clipper used by a podiatrist. The handles have a nice slim, smooth feel. They have a nice curve that eases that awkward angle we must all face, whether it be working on our weak side making certain feet hard to get at, unsure but these have bridged that issue for me. They take a second to adjust to, I've used all styles. These offer a collapsible spring hinge. You can open these entirely, so much easier to maneuver clunky nails that may have a challenging profile. Older clipper, of good quality, often caused little micro splintering around tough nails. My dog would chew at them and they'd never seem to really get short enough to ease him. These get the nails low, safely but very quickly. They are very sharp and have a lightweight feel but very good quality steel. I highly recommend these nail trimmers, my dog's nails have never looked so clean and correctly angled following a trim. He seems so relieved and absolutely is admiring his comfy toes which is a huge win, his gait looks better immediately. Get these, your pets will be so appreciative. They are worth every penny and truly slice through thick claws with such ease, I was pleasantly shocked! For first use, worked great. Definately cut better than my last pair and my dog wasnt in pain. I've only used it once, so I don't know how much longer it can last. Others have said it dulls quick. Great build quality, very durable. Package it came in was nice too. The nail filer worked ok at first, but dulled very quickly after the 2nd paw. Read more

Best dog nail clippers ever! I have 170 lb Great Dane whose claws are very large and extremely hard. They dull every clipper that I bought for him. I've thrown every clipper out that we've used on him within one or two uses It's dull. This one cut through my Dane's nails like butter. And has continued to cut all of my dog's nails perfectly. The only thing is that it doesn't have a guard and so you have to be very careful when you go to clip the nail, so that you don't clip it too short. Best nail clippers I've ever used! So far, I've used them twice and they really did an amazing job. I have a large breed dog and have had terrible time with other trimmers splitting my dogs nails. I'm very pleased with these so far. Excellent clippers! These really cut clean and quick without the clacking sounds that make my nervous dog jumpy every time I've clipped his nails. Easy to grip and a nice weight to them so they are sure to last a very long time. These remind me of the German nail clippers my Grandmother had brought back with her and lasted for over 50 years. Hard to find quality of this nature any more. The size is perfect for one hand use and have a clip to spring them open after squeezing off a puppy toenail. I find these easier to use then the spring version where you have to thread the nail through before shearing off the nail. These also are easier to see where the cut is being made, which eliminates cutting into the quick. Very practical and worth the money. Read more
