I am only writing this review because the only other review was so bad. I agree the price is pretty steep. The fact that it takes so long to cook should be expected for whole grains. I have an Aroma Professional Plus rice cooker so I do not have to mess with cooking it. You will have to add more water, like 3+:1 water to grain. After cooking, the texture of the grains have body (like wheat berries in bread), are not starch coated (like white rice) and each have their individual, almost nutty flavors. The grains have a very hardy flavor. It is a great base for strong flavored toppings, like curries, beef stew, seafood stew, because the flavor of the grains can still be tasted. Read more
