At the price break this Belgian Waffle iron is set at, it is quite the deal. It arrived well packed with an instruction book and some starter recipes. Although it is not as heavy or well featured as the commercial models, it is much better built than expected. It is of good weight and build for a home appliance. The cook plates are not removable for cleaning, but they are a nice nonstick ceramic. There are two lights on top. The red light indicates the iron is plugged in and powered. The green "ready" light indicates the iron is hot enough to cook. You will need a timer to know when your waffles are done. Lastly, there is an adjustment knob so you can dial in the amount of heat you want applied to turn out a lighter, softer waffle, or a browner, crispier waffle. I washed the entire waffle iron with a hot soapy cloth and followed it with a clean damp wipe down. I heated the iron and used a provided recipe to make a blueberry waffle batter. The ceramic surface was so slippery after washing that I didn't oil it for this test. As the iron heated to the requested temperature, it omitted no fowl odors. I added the recommended amount of batter to the iron and closed the lid. I set my timer for 4 minutes and enjoyed the wonderful smell of baking blueberry waffles. When the timer went off, I lifted my perfect Belgian Waffles from the iron with a nylon spatula. I reloaded the iron for another waffle and turned out another perfect waffle. NOTHING stuck to those un-oiled ceramic plates and the waffles were delicious! I am impressed and pleased with the Gourmia Belgian Waffle Maker and feel it is a real bargain for the price. Read more

So far this has turned out to be a great product. Waffles come off really easy and it cleans up well. It’s compact for storing but the waffles are a good size. My only reason for not giving it five stars is because I think it would be nice if the plates were removable for cleaning. Read more

I love that it is a single waffle maker. However, It doesn't cook evenly or crisp up very well. It takes a while to get it cooked. The plates are easy to clean and the batter does not stick on the inside or outside. Its not bad but not the best. I can live with the results. Read more

Made the best waffle I've ever had! Light, fluffy, and cooked perfectly. Easy to use, just turn it on and select your desired cook level. I prefer mine light so I set temp slightly below half. The ready light makes it really easy to know when to pour mixture in. Great little waffle maker Read more
