This thing is sharp and produces very large slices. Well made and a nice size - some graters are much smaller and take more time to grate something. Love this for adding hard cheese to salads - the grate size is right and the cheese flavor is well preserved among all the other flavors. Not going back to graters with small holes again. I bought this specifically for hash browns. I was looking for a larger grate than my box grater. And although this one is larger in width, it’s not in depth. It kinda makes a ribbon, if you will, shape. Wide but no depth to it. It is nice and sturdy, I appreciate that about it. This grater is perfect for shredding soft, whole milk mozzarella cheese. It is a bit difficult to get the hang of using if you typically use a box grater. The grip is not as easy to hold onto the the bottom tends to slip, but I have learned how to steady it. It is easy to clean in the dishwasher. It is a good value. Read more

My reliable Mouli-Julienne grater finally conked out just as I was trying to produce a flurry of latkes. This Norpro grater seemed like a solution and the price was right. Pros: it's large and sturdy. The holes are big, accelerating the grating process. Cons: the grater is too large for my average female hand. Figuring out how/where to hold it while grating potatoes is not intuitive. Worse, I have not been able to use this without grating my knuckles too. That never happened with my Mouli-Julienne. The Mouli-Juliennes are out of production, though you can find them used. For me, a viable solution, with the Norpro on standby. I doubt I'll be using it often. Read more
