My Personal Reviews—February 4, 2026
As someone with coily hair, "Sea Salt" usually sounds like a recipe for a dry, tangled mess. However, Great Clips Solutions Texture Spray is a different beast entirely. It manages to provide that "big hair" energy and grit while surprisingly maintaining a level of moisture that coily textures desperately need. How I Used It on Coily Hair: I found the best way to use this is on damp or slightly refreshed hair. Instead of just spraying and praying, I misted it into my palms and scrunched it into my coils, focusing on the mid-lengths to ends. The Standout Features: 1. Non-Drying Formula: Most salt sprays leave my hair feeling like straw. This formula seems balanced; it gives that "beach" grip and fullness but keeps the coils feeling supple. 2. Instant Volume: If your coils tend to get weighed down, this is a game-changer. It adds enough "grit" to the hair fibers that they stand up and out, making my fro look significantly denser and more voluminous after a light pick-out. 3. The Scent & Mist: The spray nozzle is excellent, it provides a fine, even mist rather than a direct stream, which is crucial for preventing product buildup in one spot. 4. Definition: It actually helped "clump" my smaller coils together, giving me a more defined look than I usually get with just a standard leave-in. 💬 Vine Voice Tip: If you have high-porosity coily hair, definitely layer this over a light leave-in conditioner or hair milk. The salt provides the texture, and the leave-in provides the safety net. It’s the perfect duo for a "big hair" day that still looks healthy. Final Verdict: It’s rare to find a texture spray that doesn’t turn Type 4 hair into a frizz-bomb. This adds body, smells salon-quality, and keeps the moisture-to-grit ratio exactly where it needs to be. Read more

I was eager to try this Great Clips texture spray with Sea Salt. I have had very fine, low-volume/low-body hair my whole life, and I am always interested to try hair products that might hopefully give my hair more body and volume. I tried this spray on dry, freshly washed hair. The first thing I noticed was that this spray has a very pleasant scent that I did enjoy. (I do note that the scent is rather strong, and might overpower any other perfume you are wearing.) I note that this spray has moisturizer in it. This is probably very nice for people with dry or fly-away hair, but this was a negative for me because it made my hair look flat and overly oily, despite having just been washed. I also do note that this product gives a nice shine to hair in the light, but I could not get an adequate photo to show that feature. Overall, although this product did not work for me due to my very fine hair, I would recommend it for people for whom a moisturizing spray is helpful. I also really do like the very pleasant scent of this spray. Read more

This product smelled just fine to me. It is lightly perfumed and somewhat floral. I live near the beach and i didn't detect any beach smell at all. But it did leak into the box before it arrived, so it's not well-sealed. I washed my very long, very fine and thinning hair as I usually do and used this according to directions. I sprayed lightly and when I didn't see any change at all, I tried a bit more of it. The result: this makes my hair look, feel and act like it's dirty and caused me to have to wash it much sooner than normal. It actually flattened my hair. I didn't see any difference in it frizzing, just in the way my hair felt and appeared. I think this type of spray would work for someone with medium or thick hair, possibly someone with curly hair, but fine, straight hair like I have doesn't work well with this spray. I generally love Great Clips' products, but this one wasn't for my hair type. It may work better on yours. Read more

I have short-to-medium length, thick hair and usually go for a messy, textured style that looks natural rather than overly styled. This spray worked really well for that. The nozzle doesn’t produce a super fine mist. It comes out more like a controlled spritz, which I actually prefer because it gives better coverage without oversaturating certain areas. I used it when my hair was damp and almost dry, worked it through with my hands, and could immediately feel it adding texture and grip. After finishing with a blow dryer, my hair already had noticeable separation and volume. I then added a small amount of styling product to define a few sections and finished with a light mist of medium-hold hairspray. The texture spray made a big difference in how well everything held its shape, and the style stayed in place all day. Another plus is that it doesn’t feel sticky or stiff. Later in the day I was able to refresh the style just by running my hands through it. Even the next morning, after lightly dampening my hair, the texture reactivated easily and restyled well. If you’re looking for natural-looking texture and hold without the crunchy feel, this is a great option! Looking forward to experimenting with it even more. Read more
