H Halston Womens Wear to Work Collared V-Neck Long Sleeve Shirt Dress

I had some fun styling this long-sleeved shirt dress. It's such a great basic for work, but it can also be styled for a nice event, or just a fun night out. The fit is true to size. I currently wear a size 12 in bottoms, and a large in tops, and the size 12 fits perfectly everywhere. It's so comfortable. I love the sleeve length, the tie at the waist, and the length. It does a great job of skimming over my hips, and the style is flattering as well as comfortable to wear. The fabric is a woven, non-stretchy rayon/poly combo. It's a nice medium-weight fabric, and it does need to be steamed or ironed, because it wrinkles. It drapes beautifully, and it's soft and comfortable to wear. I tried this dress as it comes, with the same fabric tie belt, but then I also styled it with a black and silver leather belt, and a tank top, along with some chunky silver jewelry to give it an 'after work' style. I really like the style, fit, quality, and versatility of this cute dress. At the time of this review, the price is $139.00. Beautiful dress. Versatile and classic. This could be worn for work or accessorized for a more formal event. The fabric is true deep black with a nice slight sheen (in certain lighting). The buttons are secure, the belted waist adds to nice finished look. The hems are clean and even. The Halston logo on the pocket adds a nice touch *even better if your name starts with an "H". This dress is elegant, timeless, and incredibly versatile – I want to wear it every day! I’ve dressed it down with a jean jacket & Addidas, and up with pumps and pearls. The black belt it comes with is classy & pretty, but other belts look great too! It’s the best flattering, forgiving, dress I can pull out of my closet & throw on without a worry or plan. The fabric is soft, drapes well, and doesn’t wrinkle much, and is easy to clean. It’s sewn well and the seams are smooth and soft. I’d order this in every color if they were available! I really wanted to like this dress, but unfortunately the 1980's aren't a style era I care to repeat. My main concern with this dress is the fabric - it really feels like the same stuff parachute pants were made of. Break-dancers could pull this stuff off with ease, but for work, I feel like I am wearing a noisy rain jacket with vintage vibes. What I liked (Not Much, to be fair): The overall concept is nice—a classic collared V-neck shirt dress is great for the office - but the fabric just kills this. What I didn’t like: Obviously, the parachute pants fabric. In addition, the fabric was completely thin and unstructured, which made the dress hang awkwardly and wrinkle easily. It looked rumpled after just a few minutes of wear. The cut is very boxy and not flattering. There’s no shaping at the waist, and even with a belt, it still looked oversized rather than tailored. I kind of felt like a creep in a cheap trench coat, to be honest. This really was a very cheaply executed garment from a brand that used to be synonymous with quality. Alas, not with this dress. My daughter is going for her first office internship so it was important for her to look professional. It isn't easy deciding what to wear but my wife and daughter chose this dress as it has a conservative neckline and long sleeves but still remains cute and modern. I think it is. a big hit. The quality is a cut above what you would normally get from a fast fashion source, which is important for office wear because she will likely wear this dress once every week or two. Really classy and sophisticated. I was nervous when I pulled it out of the packaging that it would wrinkle easily. There were some deep set wrinkles from packaging but after 1 good iron I have been wearing it all day and im happy to report no wrinkles. I paired with boots because its fall weather here but it would also look cute with sandals or heels. The material has a sturdy polyester feel and it is very lightweight and comfortable but not see through. It fits perfectly with the exception of the bust. I wear the top 2 buttons open because it is a little too tight on the bust but it still looks very chic and sophisticated with the top buttons open. A very classy outfit Read more

This dress is gorgeous. Halston really does a great job in dressing women for women. I love the cut of the fabric, plus the way the skirt swings when you walk, but not too much. The fabric is so soft and almost silky, but also cool and has a lot of stretch. The little details like the shoulder tabs and breast pockets make this dress have a vintage look. The little H on the breast pocket is subtle and classy. The only thing this dress is missing is pockets at the waist. However, I am currently obsessed with this dress.
