This powder is a very interesting texture. It’s dry but wet. If you hold and shake it upside down for too long drips will come out. It works so well though. I have mixed curly hair 2a-3a. Trying to give life to the curls while accommodating the sections that are wavy can lead to my roots getting a bit flat. This has been the perfect way to finish my hair off and give it so much body in the roots. My hair looks way less flat and the texture keeps it in place. It’s easy to wash out in the shower and because it’s matte it helps me push off hair wash day. I haven’t noticed any smell. It’s kept my hair’s body for full 12-hour days of running errands, shopping and taking kids to birthday parties. I’ve used it for a few days. I have been so happy with how it helps complement and accentuate the body my hair should have. Normally my hair’s body lasts for only a short amount of time before falling flat when left to its own devices. If you struggle with flat roots this is a great option. Read more

Ok. I was skeptical about how a powder can be used for styling. Like how in the world can that possibly work. Well, it does. Turns out that the powder looks kind of like talcum powder, but as soon as you rub your hands together (per the instructions), it immediately turns into a sticky, clear substance. You then rub it into your dry hair and it’ll pretty much stay that way. However, once it gets into your hair, it will dry immediately and be difficult to comb or brush. It isn’t sticky at all, but your hair will be stuck together. Kind of like the hairs are tangled and stuck, not like a matted glue type of stuck. So, if you are looking for a styling gel that isn’t a gel and is easy to apply, and are ok with the kind of finger-combed look, then this is what you’re looking for. I did knock off one star because it just sets up way too fast, and it would be more useful if it at least had a little time to run a comb through it. I was able to comb my hair, but then it lost some of the hold. You can also dampen your hair a bit after applying to do some fine tuning, but again, it’ll lose some of its hold. Read more

I purchased this Yargkos brand, Hair Styling Powder for Men & Women, Hair Texture Powder, Texturizing & Volumizing, Strong Hold, Natural Matte Finish, No Residue, Vegan Formula, 1.41 oz. Kyle (the human hair mannequin model) approves. This styling powder is a travel size. Comes with an inner peel off sticker. This comes out of the dispenser easily. It doesn't take much to cover a whole men's head. I found that I placed smaller amounts in my hand, rubbing together, then working into one section of hair before repeating in different areas. It took 3 sections to get good, workable coverage. This says it's unscented but I smelled a hint of scent-pleasant. The Powder turns into a form of liquid in your hands-easy to work with and distribute. The volume is phenomenal! It has terrific all day hold. My husband has put away his wax styling products and is using this styling powder alone now-he loves it! This is a good value for the quality. Read more

This powder is pretty easy to use if you read the directions. We were skeptical at first, so we used it sparingly and it worked. Strange it comes out as powder but then once you rub your hands turns into a liquid. There is no noticeable scent at all either. It did increase hair volume and easy to style my hair as well, but again used sparingly. I think for the price it is a great product that does what it says it does. However what is this stuff, my SO thought it was baking soda or something of the sorts. It has like a powdered sugar appearance to me. Would be nice if they listed the ingredients used cause we have no idea what we are putting on our bodies or hair, and would prefer to know. 4/5 Read more

This volumizing powder is basically dry shampoo. I’m annoyed that I don’t know at all what is in this. What kind of powder is this? No ingredients list on it anywhere that I see, not in the listing at this time. Maybe I should have shaken it well before use (not that it says to do that)? At first some powder came out. Then a large liquid drip fell out and scattered the powder. That was fun. I noticed more liquid, it needed to manually be mixed in and kind of rolled around the powder. The powder is grittier than I’d like, more like baking soda maybe. No scent, as described. Not planning to continue using it. Read more

As someone who lived through the glory days of 80’s hair, I know my way around a good texturizing powder—and this one might just be my favorite yet! My hair is naturally flat and lifeless, but with just a little dusting at the roots and a quick backcomb, voila! Instant volume that actually lasts. I love that it’s lightweight and non-greasy - no sticky mess or heavy feel - and it gives a natural finish without white residue. It also has super strong holding power, so my hair stays put without feeling stiff or crunchy. Bonus: the compact size is perfect for tossing in my gym bag or purse. If your hair needs a little lift and life, this is a must-have! Read more

This styling powder was incredibly fine and weightless, I've been using it on my roots on days that I needed a little bit extra volume and it does give a decent, lasting lift. It managed to add texture and a matte finish without leaving any odd residue or making my hair feel crunchy. Although, learning how to use it at first took a couple of tries, as too much can make my hair feel a bit too producty at the root, but it does give my hair a strong hold that lasts almost all day. This styling powder works great, it holds the hair well, it is super easy to apply. I love that you can use it throughout the day for a quick touch up of volume for your hair. It doesn’t take much and holds my thick hair. I love that it isn’t a super sticky residue like hair sprays. Way less messy too. Read more
