I'm a woman with long hair, but I regularly use volumizing powder in my bangs to keep them looking fluffy and full (my hair is very fine and thin.) I've used several different brands, and this Nizorick powder works as well as any I've tried. I got the "red" one which says it's cedarwood scented. To me it has a smell more like men's aftershave, but it's a very faint smell that dissipates immediately after application. When I sprinkle it at the hairline under my bangs, it works well to prevent them from getting too piecey. (I also use a separate dry shampoo powder in my bangs to keep them from getting greasy and stringy.) I also tried sprinkling this powder at the top of my head to see if I could get some volume at the crown, but it didn't seem to do much in that regard. I think it's because my hair is too long; it should work for shorter hair. The powder does add a lot of texture - so much so that I couldn't run my fingers through my hair at all. But again, this quality should give it a lot of lifting power on shorter hair! The powder is easy to sprinkle on and doesn't leave a white cast on my auburn hair. This volume powder works pretty well. I have curly but thin shoulder length hair. I have tried it a couple ways so far. One by sprinkling some on to my fingers and massaging it into the hair and then I tried directly sprinkling it on the hairline. It seemed to do better with the curls by adding to my hands first. But straightened bangs worked better with it directly applied to the hair. The scent is light and goes away shortly after use. I do think I saw a bit more volume. It did seem to add a little texture as well. The hold was strong while still being able to get my hands through it during the day to refluff as I felt like.
