I purchased this coffee maker to use on a coffee station for a celebration of life. Gets 5 stars from me because it arrived fast, worked well, looked nice and served its purpose. A few things to note if you’re looking to buy this for continual use. The lid doesn’t have a tight seal when closed and “locked” and visible steam escapes around the top when it’s brewing. Not a lot but worth noting. You definitely need to add a percolator coffer filter to the plastic basket it comes with or your coffee will be full of grounds. And, the design aspect that really surprised me was how low the dispenser was. I had 12 oz disposable coffee cups that were 4.4” tall and I needed to raise this coffee maker up so they would fit for dispensing. If you are at all concerned with leaving it on over night as a potential fire hazard, my wife and I have never had any issues with it. It’s a safe, reliable way of enjoying hot coffee every Shabbos morning. Read more

I have bought Nesco urns over the years and been happy with them but this was on sale and I thought I would like the feature of being able to see how much coffee was in the pot. Plus I have had their Brewmaster for years and absolutely love it. I thought they were a good quality. But this has been a complete disappointment. First: The measuring tube very quickly stained brown so that I cannot see how much coffee is left. It is not removable as far as I can see, so it can't be cleaned. That quickly became worthless. 2nd: It does not travel well. I always make the coffee and transport it to our weekly meeting. I have had to secure it in a milk crate completely surrounded with towels including one over the lid so that it no longer soaks everything else around it in the car with hot black coffee. Also, the lid easily misses the slit on one side so that it is often tilted if I don't notice and will spill even easier. 3rd: The spout is very tight and is only 4 inches from the table, so you cannot fit the 12oz paper coffee cups under it without tipping the cup and possibly spilling it. I bought a cake pan to put it on to raise it up another 1.5 inches which helped but the spout is so tight that it frequently pushes the urn off of it and spills. The best I can do is put it up against a wall and hope it doesn't slide off when someone tries to get a cup. Unfortunately, once I realized just how much I dislike this urn, it was too late to return it. Even though it hasn't been that long, I am seriously considering buying a different urn and throwing this one away. A huge disappointment. Spend a few extra $$ and get a different brand. Better yet, just go to the store first so you can compare them before you buy. Read more
