I have an Onyx Studio 5 and love it! The Studio 5 & Studio 6 do in fact link together! Both sound great! I purchased after being utterly disappointed by another high end portable speaker manufacturers more expensive item. These by far outshine all others I have listened to in terms of deep lows and enjoying all ranges of sound. They are not over the ear studio quality but incredibly fill a 20x40 room with great pleasure with one speaker. They are not omnidirectional in terms of sound quality but you can hear the range well from any angle like any other and feel the base just not quite as pure. Linking two of them provides a great experience! Just connect to one by holding the Bluetooth button two seconds and play music. Then hold down the Bluetooth button for 5 seconds until the white led blinks quickly, turn the other on and hold the Bluetooth button five seconds until the led blinks white rapidly and voila they link together! You can feel the base like a home theater system! Double the fun! I feel that the only difference between the two is that the 6 is slightly louder and slightly clearer mids and highs as well as being ipx7 waterproof rated. They look identical except for the trim color and a rubber gasket is added over the connection ports to create a waterproof seal. This speaker has been a game changer. I love music and dancing. I am able to carry this everywhere I go, but it's so loud I don't have to carry it much, just sit it and blast it and feel the beat from a distance. The music from this speaker fill the room or a home. I like how it sits and not tilt over with the amount of base it has. I love the ability for others to access the speaker so I don't have the stress of picking all the music. The features are easy to use. I like that it doesn't allow a phone call to come over the speaker but you will know if your getting a call. The battery life is fair for playing loud music without being plugged in but the battery will last longer of a lower volume. I really don't have anything negative to say about this product. I was at Best Buy (Canada) and was testing out all the different bluetooth speakers. Sony, JBL, Bowes, Altec, Bob Marley etc...Then I played the Onyx and WOW! Head and shoulders above all others at any price range. I need proper subwoofer style bass and the difference between this speaker and all others is night and day - including the other 499.99 and even 599.99 speakers. It blew them all away At first, I did not even realize that I was listening to the same songs as the other speakers - it sounded that much fuller and richer. Unfortunately in Canada the list price is 499.99 and no sales anywhere - even more on amazon.ca, I checked on Amazon US and found this listing from Alwayz-on-sales. After the exchange rate, I payed 346.67 Canadian including shipping and taxes (no taxes). In Canada this would have cost me 567.69 CAD after taxes. This speaker says it has an 8 hour battery time which is short by rechargeable speaker standards however, it is also powered by AC as well which to me, is way better than rechargeable speakers where you can drain power faster than they charge when listening at even moderate volume levels. Plus, the speaker is louder when using AC power. Also, I see some reviews where ppl say that harmon kardan doesn't offer an app where you can adjust the eq. That is not a worry because any eq app will work. So yes, the sound can be adjusted. Regarding alwayz-on-sale, I had a couple of questions and they responded quickly and, it was shipped to me in 2 days (to Canada). I know this us an exceptional bluetooth speaker and a speaker in general so I was no surprise with the Vass and sound quality.im basing this off the one my ex. Bought when I told her about it. But apparently Amazon likes using 3rd party delivery i.e. USPS and I never got any of the 2 I ordered. But I got a cigt card for not receiving. So I have to order a third one. UPDATE: After using it for about a week I'm deducting a star. We took the speaker camping and blasted it at max volume to test the battery, it lasted exactly 2 hours. Very different than the 8hrs I was expecting. This means that if I want to take this camping or to festivals I'll need an actual plug to recharge the speaker pretty frequently. That's a huge bummer. There is also no way to check the battery level, which has been a big issue. I keep a backup little Boom speaker incase it dies early. ------------------------ I was using a UE Megaboom for the past 6 years and decided it was time for an upgrade. This speaker is AMAZING for the size and price! Crisp highs, thumping bass, rich sound. It sounds best at mid volume, but isn't bad on the higher or lower end and gets really, REALLY loud without much distortion. Great for bass-rich electronic music, but can sound kind of sharp for music without a lot of bass. My only complaint, it needs to be plugged into an actual outlet to recharge, so I can't recharge it with my power bank USB, and the battery life is about half of my EU Megaboom (but has twice the power, so it works out).
