I often have to give PowerPoint presentations in various conference rooms and I encountered one last week that the hdmi to hdmi port did not work in. My computer does not have a VGA port. You need to realize that it is going to take information from the HDMI end and send it to the VGA end. This was exactly what I needed since I had an HDMI port on my laptop.
