I can't tell you how many TV knife sets and other supposed culinary knife sets I've been through in my 60+ years of living. I just know I was tired of buying kitchen knives that were dull after one use. Well NOT these knives! The holder for the knives has a built-in sharpener so when you slide the knife back into it's assigned slot, it gets resharpened! You have to be careful and don't assume they aren't sharp. When I first purchased them, I had a few finger cuts. DO NOT PUT THEM IN THE DISHWASHER NOR SOAK THEM IN WATER!!! I cannot emphasize that enough. If I can't wash the knife right away, I lay it to one side of my counter near the sink until I can get to it. I have NEVER soaked it in water for any long period of time nor put them in the dishwasher. So they have never rusted and do not rust. You just have to take care of them and they will be good to you. I had to laugh because it's a German company that sells the knives but yet they are manufactured in China. But trust me, they are quality through and through. The handles are sturdy. The blades are stainless steel and the block that holds the set is decorative and well made. I don't know how I ever got through all these years of cooking without these. They were more than I was willing to pay for a knife set but I have regrets. They are worth ever penny! Read more

I’ve had the knives for about 3 months now and wanted to write a review. I cook daily, and use these knives for chopping vegetables, potatoes, meat, bacon, etc. and they work like an absolute charm. Self sharpening knife block inside of most of the slots is clutch! I have yet to deal with any kind of rust or anything like that. I simply wash with soapy water and rinse them, then let them dry, and they’re good to go for the next meal preparation. 10/10 would recommend. Read more

I had a decent knife set but not self-sharpening and it was a pain to have to keep sharpening them; I would forget to do so until I really needed a very sharp knife. This is a blessing since the sharpening blades do that job each and every time I re-insert the knives. If I have used a knife excessively preparing large batches of something, then when I am ready to return it to its slot I will run the knife several times back-n-forth before letting it slide down into its slot so the edges are truly sharpened. Although the price put me off for a long time, I am thankful that I finally purchased this set a year later. I did have to return the first set due to 2 of the knives having nicks in their blades' edges, poor quality control is not something new when "made in China", but that is the only negative thing about this set. Very nice set at a good price. I very much liked that all the items go neatly into the stand. I saw many of this types of sets where the shears go into the stand but they stick out of the front of the stand. This set is more compact therefore nicer on the counter. Great set of knives as long as they are properly treated and maintained. Means don’t throw them in the dish washer, hand wash them after every use. And use a wooden chopping block not glass or plastic that wears away at the edge and makes it hard for the sharpening block to keep the blades constantly sharp. Read more

Theses are great but must be washed and dried after each use or they will stain/rust Also don’t be fooled into thinking the serrated knife that comes with it is for bread. It’s not!! I’m going to find a bread knife that will fit instead. All that said it’s great to have a sharp knife every time you grab for one!!!! Excellent!!! Highly recommend this product especially because it DOESN’T come with those never used cumbersome steak knives. This block is simplicity! The only 4 knives you’ll ever need. Read more
