These are BRIGHT. Almost indescribably so. If you were to try and explain just how much so to someone who hasn't seen them, they'd call it hyperbole. ...which is why you'll be glad to have a buddy with you for the installation. A witness to experience the absolute brightness, if not to steady these slightly unwieldy assemblies as you hoist them into a neutron star-worthy place on the ceiling. They're made of plastic and aluminum and are relatively lightweight, so finding a mounting location is straightforward. Either a stud or an anchor in drywall works just fine. Each segment fits securely with its neighbor, but the assemblies can become somewhat flexible, which is why I'd suggest bonding with a friend as you each scale a ladder and work to avoid fumbling your end. Overall, assembly and basic installation are nearly foolproof, especially if you've used similar kits before. We did not hardwire the system; instead, we used an existing outlet in the ceiling. The light color is a very bright, cool white, which is great for a garage/shop, and probably not an ideal choice for a hobby or craft room or a small YouTube studio. They'd be awesome for building a sci-fi film set, though, and I'll be purchasing a few more sets for that purpose, as they offer amazing bang for the buck! Overall, a great, super-bright (have I mentioned that yet?) set of shop lights that provides a fun afternoon with a friend. I'd have given 5 stars, but the instructions aren't exactly the clearest. Would highly recommend! Read more
