Have you ever thought, "My workshop needs more light. Not just some light. But the light of 1,000 suns"? If so, you have found the item you're looking for! I'm being a little sarcastic there, but not as much as you think. This light is BRIGHT. We opened the box in the kitchen, plugged it in, and turned it on. I think it's the only time we've ever seen what color our kitchen walls actually are. But, we didn't order it for the kitchen. We ordered it for the workshop. And it fits in GREAT there! Our work area over the mobile workbench is lit by regular old tube flourescent bulbs. And that works, but more light is always better. So we installed this into the area. It's seriously like working under direct sunlight. (But only in the good ways.) Cannot tell you what a difference this light makes! It's a solid, bright white illumination, making whatever you're working on much easier. (At least from a visibility standpoint!) And, unlike flourscent lights, there's no hum and no flickering - just LIGHT. (While we made all the jokes after installing it: Gondor, bat signal, let there be light, etc., now, we just say, "turn on the sun, would ya?") Because our workshop ceilings are only 10' high, the light comes down in a nice cone that illuminates our working area very well, but isn't throwing light all over the shop. Not that you would expect it to - just want to be clear that this light is directional. One of these wouldn't bring daylight to every corner of your barn, for instance. But one of these in every corner of your barn would have it glowing from the inside out! The light is very lightweight, making it very simple to hang. It's LED, so it is using a fraction of the electricity of its halogen/sodium vapor counterparts. And it generates VERY little heat, which is a huge win over those other types of high intensity lights. Don't know what the lifespan will be yet, but based on the fact that it is LED, we anticipate it outliving everything else we've had lighting up our shop. Get youself one of these, plug it in, and see what it feels like to say "Let there be light!" Read more

For a light fixture that is relatively compact, 11.8"x3", it packs quite the punch and is quite impressive. I wanted this for the 'dark spaces' in my basement, which is large and some areas are darker than others. I have been trying to go through what's stored down there and either donate or pitch what we don't need. But I get really annoyed when I don't have enough light to function comfortably. This has made a huge difference and the task so much more enjoyable It's pretty easy to find a spot to hang it up, especially if your ceiling is unfinished, like mine. The hook works really well and I appreciate the safely cable, just in case. The cord is long enough to plug directly into an outlet in some areas, but in others I've just used an extension cord, which is very easy. The amount of light it throws off is great, it illuminates the entire area. The fixture itself feels quite solid and durable. I look forward to using this for a long time to come. Read more

I recently received this light and tried it out right away. Our garage doubles as a work shop and it seems as though we can never have enough good, focused lighting. So initially I noticed this light is pretty powerful for its size. It produced a bright light that was able to effectively illuminate a good portion of our garage. It is pretty lightweight- not sure if that is a good or a bad thing just yet. But it is a great choice if you're looking for strong lighting without a bulky, overcomplicated fixture. There are a few significant drawbacks to be aware of. The included power cord is extremely short. It will almost certainly require an extension cord to reach any standard outlet. The included hardware is not sufficient for a complete installation... It comes with a screw-in hook, but you will need to purchase a chain or other lengthening product to hang it, as well as a separate hook or mounting system to attach it to the ceiling. These are things that may not be a big deal to some that have these things on hand, but to others it could be an annoyance. Another thing to keep in mind is that there is no on/off switch of any kind on it, so it will need to be plugged in and unplugged each time you use it. It also gets quite hot to the touch in a hurry so be careful of that! Overall it's a good light in terms of brightness and performance, but be prepared to potentially need to buy extra accessories to get it properly installed. Read more

Impressed right out of the box. Installation was simple, and the brightness is outstanding—lit up my entire 3-car garage with just two units. The build feels solid, and there’s no flicker or delay when switching on. Great value for a serious lighting upgrade. Read more
