This is a large, powerful and easy to use blender. The pitcher is a heavy plastic that is BPA free. I wish it was a glass pitcher though. It has a professional look and power. It is slightly quieter than other blenders I have owned. It has a cleaning cycle and probably should not be put into the dishwasher. One of the better blenders I have owned. Read more

It looks so simple, but it has so many speeds and options. I was very impressed. It comes with a tool to clean it out underneath the blades. Two potential downsides: the pitcher is plastic (though a high quality plastic) and you aren't supposed to put it in the dishwasher. It doesn't come all apart like old blenders do - the bottom of the plastic pitcher is what I assume can't go in the dishwasher. The upsides: it blends up so smoothly and it has so many speeds and choices for how finely you want to blend. The blades are close to the bottom of the pitcher, so you don't end up with big chunks stuck underneath the blades like with old blenders. I would definitely recommend it, just know that you're going to have to hand wash it. Read more

Using the initial "Clean" feature, this blender impressively pulverized the lemon half, conveniently powering off automatically. My first test/use was making a sorbet using frozen watermelon chunks, lime juice, cream, and very minimal agave syrup which resulted in a nice consistency -- however. a few small fruit pieces remained, after a few rounds on the pre-set "Sorbet" setting. I was eager to witness this "quieter" model (since all the blenders I've heard -- especially the Vitamix -- are loud; however, my thoughts are that this blender is no quieter than a standard blender -- just more expensive! Washing the parts after use, I was disappointed to see some cloudy smudge marks on the inside of the blender's container, using only the ingredients named above. I'm eager to see this blender's performance on tasks such as crushing ice, mixing, and more. Read more

I love the simplicity this blender features. The buttons are not complicated. You don't need to figure out what to do. It's right there. Simple. Easiest operation you can imagine. The power is wonderful. You can go from ice cubes into smoothie level ice powder in no time. It doesn't struggle to do this. You can feel and hear the power that blends everything. The heavy motor bottom gives me confidence it is well made. When you spin one thing in one direction fast, there is an equal and opposite movement which, in this case, can move the entire unit. Not on this unit. The heavy bottom ensures good power translation. The design looks like industrial rather than personal. This is the part I like about. Industrial look and power. Read more

This blender is a curious mixture of positives and negatives for me. Overall it’s pretty good though I have a few concerns about the longevity of the lid and the jar, which both seem to be rather cheaply made. Maybe it will surprise me and not break but I’m not 100% confident in their build quality. The bad: aforementioned jar and lid quality (taking the lid off after it suctions on to the jar can be hard, and the thin plastic piece that they give you for leverage doesn’t seem like it’s built to last); the pour spout is super messy and hard to pour without losing the contents down the side of the blender jar The good: the jar is so nice and large! I always put too much in for smoothies and this one contains it all beautifully; the base is large but has a really sophisticated, cool interface and is surprisingly quiet, even when blending loud ice; excellent frozen drink/smoothie blender The suggestion in the manual for adding hot water and half a lemon is a great one that cleaned it up really well. I’m hesitant to put this in my dishwasher because I think over time that will break down the blender jar and lid. Read more

I’ve owned a high-powered, brand-name blender for over 10 years, and the BlendTide Home Blender holds up well in comparison. With its powerful 1400-watt motor, it blends efficiently and handles tough ingredients with ease. The design is sleek and modern, and it comes with useful accessories -- a tamper and spatula as bonuses. The base is sturdy and heavy, which helps keep the blender stable during use. The 64oz pitcher feels durable and is great for preparing large batches, perfect for big families. One detail to note: the pitcher lid fits very snugly. While this ensures a tight seal, it can be a bit difficult to open. You’ll need to push up on the tab with your thumb to remove it. There are six preset modes, including a convenient self-cleaning function. The noise level is about the same as my old blender -- not overly loud for its power. My only complaint is the chrome knob. The white text on it is hard to read, especially since it’s on a shiny surface. If you don’t use it often, it may take a moment to find the correct positions. That said, overall, it’s a solid and stylish addition to the kitchen. Read more
