I didn’t buy this for its typical use. My son loved the one they had at the doctor’s office as a distraction for little ones, so I figured I’d get him his own to play with as a sensory item. I went back and forth between this one and another here on Amazon that lights up but has a ball-shaped top with 4 legs. I couldn’t decide, and they were cheap enough, so I got both. PLEASE learn from my mistake and just spend the extra $2 on the HoMedics brand! Both massagers arrive and I find out they’re only cool when a nurse gives them to you. Oh well, now Mom gets to use it for the various muscle spasms that accompany severe disc herniation! Gotta look at the positives, right? 1) It is powerful enough to soothe average muscle aches and promote fascia release - if you push hard enough. Not even close to relieving lumbar tension and spasm from disc bulges/herniation, however, if you’re in the same boat as me, you know nothing really helps! I find it very useful for my husband’s neck and back after work and for leg/calf pain for myself. My oldest also uses it to take the edge off the damage he does on heavy lifting days. 2) Build quality is excellent! As we expect of HoMedics, the plastic is thick and durable, the button is securely installed, the lights function perfectly, and all pieces fit together seamlessly. 3) I prefer this ergonomic handheld design (with a slope) as it reduces wrist stress and allows me to push harder without making it uncomfortable. Did I mention I have carpal tunnel too? I’m just waiting for heart failure and complete tooth loss at this point - listen to yer elders, kids! Take care of your body so you’re not writing reviews about massagers one day! ;-) 4) Comes with batteries! Woo! With two toddlers and 300 battery-operated toys I’ll take as many free ones as I can get. 5) Now, this is not an endorsement for tossing your “Ribbit” around all willy-nilly, but my son has both spiked it on my granite and hardwood floors, as well as dunked it in the water tub on his sensory table. Still kept buzzing away. Ribbit lives another day! The short of it: Well worth the investment, will help ease minor to moderate pain from muscle cramps, release tension without hurting, and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Buy one! Read more

Love this! It is perfect for my neck and back muscles when they tense up so bad. It is only one setting of steady vibration which some may not like but for me it works perfect. I like that is small, handheld and it makes it easy to reach those knotted up muscles myself. Read more

This little massager was bought and does do what it was intended for, which is massaging. Its a bit stronger than we expected and does vibrate the hand you hold it in. Decently loud too but expected for something vibrating. Its okay and does was suppose to. I think a little bit more money and buying a massage gun really trumps this but that also costs more. I wouldn't say don't buy it, but know its just a basic massager similar to what I would expect to be sold in a dollar store. Read more

I've had the original Comet version with the equal sized 4 paws for years and it has worked flawlessly. Since that model is not available, I got this Ribbitt version. It is working flawlessly also. They are great to use with one in each hand on the sides of the neck, down the back, on the lower back, and even on the head. Needless to say, my spouse is VERY happy. The pics show the easy on/off button, the nice shape that is easy to grip, the solid battery compartment, and the magic paws. I have used this for 18 sessions of 10-20 minutes on one charge of my AAA Enelops I got here on Amazon. Excellent massager that is small, easy to handle, long battery life, and nice vibrations. Update: Ordered another and got a Green One --- Hurrah! It works just as great as the first one (Pink). The one pictured is still working great and I use it 5 to 6 days a week. I like the shape as it is easy to hold at different angles. Read more

This is a fantastic massager. I ordered this because I have a trigger point below my shoulder blade that flares from time to time. I applied this massager to the trigger point, and it really helped. For $6.00, I figured if it isn't a good product, I'm only out $6.00. I'm very pleased with this product. I received a pink massager that includes batteries. It did not come in a box. It arrived in the Amazon blue and white bubble envelope. Some of the other reviews stated that the massager was broken when received. I'm sure this is why. Mine arrived completely intact. The material is of good quality and the on off switch is in a good spot. The massager is comfortable to hold. The Ribbit has a cute design; it looks like a frog. I used this on my dogs neck and shoulders and he fell asleep! It's a little noisy, but it is not distracting. The legs of the massager lights up, but I did not notice if they heat up, which is fine. I ordered this massager and received it within two days. This is an excellent product and the seller provides excellent service! Read more
