If you're looking for a deep tissue massager this is it. I love the different heads that come with it. My husband has sciatica and he grabbed it as soon as I opened the box. Ahhhhh was all he said. This is a percussion massager - in other words it thumps up and down at high speeds wherever you place it on your body. Do not expect it to rotate or do any fancy tricks. The various "modes", for instance, are simply the same thumping motion but in staccato bursts (kind of like a massaging showerhead - another silly invention). Also, don't expect to experience much of a difference from the variety of heads that come in the kit. I've stuck with the basic head, and it's been fine. What I like about this massager is its reach and its power. In terms of its reach, you can easily apply it to anywhere on your own back, and you don't need to ask someone else to hold it (the way you might with a smaller battery-powered hand-held). And it is powerful, with an adjustable setting. I find the lowest setting to be great for my neck, and the higher setting good for my back. Yes, it is a bit heavy, and that can grow tiresome if you're holding it for a long time, but heft is good - since you don't have to press it down hard to get the same results (that's basic physics), so it surprises me that it is advertised as being lighter, as if lighter is better. It isn't suitable for my back pain because it is too heavy for me. It may be fine for a larger person, but I am a small woman with fibromyalgia and I found it to be very cumbersome to use. It didn't feel good and seemed to trigger some tendinitis in my thumb just trying to hold it. So, it wasn't a good choice for me for back pain or neck or shoulders. I was looking for something equivalent to the Accureach Precision Massager that Amazon used to sell but apparently has stopped offering. Mine was getting a worn cord after years of use and it is much gentler for my myofascial trigger point areas. I really hope that they will considered offering it for sale again. I did purchase a cane shaped manual tool, but it is not the same but I will try to use it. It's a difficult thing to have chronic pain and when you find something that does work, it is a blessing indeed! So, from day 1, had issues where if I pressed down to hard or at the wrong angle the massive arm would dislodge. You can reconnect it, but as the year has gone on this thing became more and more prone to breaking. It was cheap so I never did complain. A washer fits over a nylon type plastic with nothing forcefully holding it on... bad design. Could be fixed with a washer and a screw, likelu, bit it feels like a waste of time to spend hours fixing a defect in design. Used to last long enough to at least get 1/2 the massage done before having to refit it. Now its every few seconds. Lots of similar on the market. Probably is a better design somewhere. Read more
