Did Double Duty

I bought this dress to wear to a medical conference where I was presenting on Halloween Day. I wanted to wear a costume and still look professional. This dress was just the ticket! Professional enough to wear with heels, pearls and hose, yet, with my hair braided into two plaits, gave off definite Wednesday Addams vibes. I bought the Amazon-suggested XL and it fit my 5’8” 165lb body just the way I wanted. Body-skimming at the hips, waist and chest but not too tight. Came to right above my knee. I loved the crisp white collar that stayed in place instead of flipping up like another similar dress I’d previously purchased The fabric is not cheap looking in person and kept me warm enough in cold conference rooms all day without a jacket. Zipping it up did call for my contortionist skills though, so if you have reduced range of motion in your arms like I do, be prepared to ask for help when zipping it up. Read more

Dress with Femininity and Style!

I often do not write product reviews but when a manufacturer gets it "right" I want them to know how much I appreciated their efforts to make a quality product. I ordered an XL (a size 10 according to the chart) as I am 5'6" tall, weigh 155lbs, chest is 36DD with a curvy butt. The dress fit exactly as expected with a little more space in the stomach area but the material was not excessive. For me, this dress was perfect as I work in an educational atmosphere and I wanted the dress length to hit me just below the knee. The dress material is slightly thicker and I found another dress in my closet with similar material weight which is comprised of 68% viscose, 29% poliammide and 4% elastaan. This would not be material to wear in sweltering, humid weather, but rather something I would wear when the weather is slightly cooler (late autumn/winter/early spring). I was undecided on what size to order but I paid attention to the reviews and bought a size up. The look is professional, shows your feminine side, but not in an over-the-top/overt manner. To me I could say you order the size of the dress to fit what style you want to convey: Audrey Hepburn type dress or a Marilyn Monroe type dress (both women had style, just what kind of style are you looking for?) If you want one or the other order your size to fit what message you want to convey. Read more

Knowing your fit style is key

Yes, it runs just a bit small. I purchased for one daughter whose measurements were absolutely spot-on for the small. It fit her, but it also fit a little too va-va-voom for her taste. She gave it to another sister who wears a size smaller and it was perfect for her. I read other reviews where people who are about the same height but weigh more say the small fit them great, so I think it's all about perspective: do you like tight, snug, skim, or loose fit? We prefer snug and skim, depending on the style of the dress. To us, this beautiful dress fits tight, so we suggest going up one size if you want a snug fit. Beyond sizing, the dress is classy as can be. The fabric is a good weight and the workmanship is also nice. If you determine how you want it to fit in advance, you won't be disappointed! Read more

but this is a great dress. I bought this for my daughter to ...

I'm not a big reviewer, but this is a great dress. I bought this for my daughter to be Wednesday Adams for Halloween. She is 5'6" and about 110 lbs. I bought her a size small and it fits perfect. It's very fitted, just as the pictures show. But to give a little more perspective, her sister is 4'11" and weighs 100 lbs. She tried it on "just to see" and it is way too tight across her bosom and hips. However, since it is for taller sister, we are well pleased. The cloth is nice and heavy and it looks very professional. It defiantly could be worn for work or somewhere that calls for conservative clothing. Buy with confidence. Read more

Order based on their size chart - Perfect fit

This dress is a winner at an unbelievable price. I was skeptical at first but I saw the pictures and read many reviews - so I went for it. I purchased an XL (8/10) for my mother and a M (4/6) for myself. The quality is better than the list price and it is very versatile. I can see wearing this dress in casual or dressier settings. Also, the style is a classic meaning it can be worn basically forever. A form on slow fashion. If more long sleeved colors are posted I will purchase. Read more

In the fine print it turned out to a size 8

Must have been made for gnomes living in a hole in a tree in some forest somewhere. Beware of the sizes. I first ordered an L thinking it would be a little roomy because the fabric is so form fitting. I wear a consistent size 10. In the fine print it turned out to a size 8. Then I reordered an XXL which purported to be a size 12. Buyers beware: the sizes are not anywhere close to US sizes. I wear a consistent size 10. I first ordered what purported to be a size 12 (what they call an L). In the fine print on the tag I discovered it was a size 8. I repeated the process with what they call a size 12 but was also way too small. Call me stubborn, but I decided to give it a third try. I planned to get the largest size they make, because the fabric is so clingy. It certainly came as no surprise to me that that was the ONLY size was sold out! So, unless you're shaped like Twiggy or one of the Olson twins, good luck. To bad as it's a very cute dress. Read more

Better than I hoped for

I lost weight recently and so I wanted to treat myself. I'm 5'7" and weigh 185. I bought XL and it fits beautifully. It is very snug and makes me look and feel much slimmer. If you don't have anyone around, you'll have to jerry-rig a string to pull the zipper up. I put string on a paper clip and looped the paper clip through the zipper and pulled it up that way. The material is thicker than I thought it would be. It's man made material and kind of the thickness of a jersey. I can't wait for cool weather so I can wear this. Read more
