Update: I did install it (easy to do) and it seemed to work great. The bulb is still working but our HVAC guy that comes every six months says the bulb only puts out UV light for a year or so. I have yet to change the bulb. I got this in November 2014 (now FEB) b/c it connects into the 24 volt system at my unit. I knew I would never run 110 over to the AC to power this thing. Let's see how long it takes me to install it. So why did I write a review? So I could be first? Well, yes, and one other reason: Our HVAC tech came out for our 6 month inspection and admired the Purifier while checking our unit. He said he could install it but when I told him I would do it he offered to pieces of advice I think are worth passing on: 1) if your drip pan under the coil is plastic, which mine is, you must cover it with come kind of foil to protect it from the UV light. He said aluminum foil from the kitchen and that metal AC ducting tape would be fine. He said the Purifier will break down the plastic faster than the sun would 2) same thing if you have a foam board box where your duct work comes together. I hadn't seen that anywhere so if someone reads this and benefits, my good deed will be done for the day! :o) Read more

This item is just as advertised. It was relatively easy to install and has been in place for a couple of weeks now. Hard to say if it has minimized the airborne contaminates as I don't have a way to test that. Read more

Purchased one of these for my home after installing several on the job. This one is,in my professional opinion, the best. Easy install, quality materials and packaging. Germicidal UV is the way to go for eliminating pathogens in your home. Filtration protects the equipment, not you in most cases and many pathogens are too small to be filtered by available filters. Do your research. Read more

Easy.to install. Difficult to see or measure the value of the light. Holes are too close. Could have better if it came with flange and all.u would need is single hole. Read more

I knew i'd need a power adapter to operate but the instructions refer to a "Duct Board Adapter" and it wasn't included in the packaging and it's discontinued everywhere i look. Update: Confirmed with Honeywell they no longer make the "Duct Board Adapter" so if you're installing in a metal duct - you're fine. However, if you're installing in a fiberglass duct, do not buy this item! Read more

This has definitely helped my family with the allergies etc. it's not the be all and end all but it's definitely a must have defense. I read the installation guide and asked around as to how to install it. It looked easy to install. But I got a lot of conflicting info. I ended up getting it installed by the guy doing the yearly inspection for $50. Good decision, he knew what he was doing. Read more

Wish there would have been something in the description that said you need a electrician to install this product safely. Other then that it works great and you can tell the difference. Read more

Very easy to install with some duct work tools and some basic electrical skills. However, if you're not sure please call a professional to install. Very cool looking product and works as expected. Read more
