This Honeywell vacuum has a lot to it. It has two heads, one for hard surfaces and one for carpets. That makes the vacuum a lot better on both of the surfaces but is a bit of extra work when you need to switch out the heads for each surface. Not that it is hard to switch them, just that you have to do it. I’ve never seen a cordless vacuum, including this one, that did a superb job on a full carpet. This one, with the carpet head, does a pretty decent job on a full carpet. I wouldn’t use it every time but occasionally it will get used when we don’t feel like dragging the big machine out and plugging it in. Also note that the head is not very wide, so it takes more time to vacuum a carpeted room with this vacuum. Final note of vacuuming carpet with this vacuum is that you pretty much have to run this on its highest power setting and therefore the battery drains pretty quickly, about 2 larger rooms max. The vacuum is quite powerful and works great on hard surfaces and short nap rugs. On hard surfaces it doesn’t have to be run on its highest power for the most part. This preserves battery life and allows you to get a whole lot more done with a single charge. It is light and easy to maneuver and reasonably quiet when not on the highest setting. The on/off switch and power level switch are interesting to me. When I first started using it, I kept turning it off because the power switch is the trigger position and is easily hit when just moving the vacuum around. Changing the power level is in a place where you can hit it with your thumb so easily reachable but unlikely you do it accidentally. For me, I would have these two switched, so I don’t keep turning it off while using it. Emptying the dust basket is very easy and can be done without removing anything. For a fuller clean, you can detach the basket and wash it with water. There is also a separate filter that you can air spray or even wash with water. There are so many attachments and ways to configure those attachments that I can’t figure out where to put them all and which way to use them. The holder has a place for the vacuum itself and a couple of tools but not enough for all the attachments that came with it. I guess they’ll just have to sit somewhere in a closet and get pulled out when there is a need for the one-off configuration. It does seem like all the attachments should “click” in, instead of just a push in connect. The main tube does actually that, but all the smaller attachments are just pushed in and pulled out, no click connectors. Super happy with this cordless vacuum. It's lightweight, powerful and has a gazillion attachments for different cleaning jobs. I've been using it to clean for about three weeks and have no complaints, just some notes. LIGHTWEIGHT Many stick vacuums claim to be lightweight but are not. With the weight concentrated in the handle, they can be challenging to work with. This vacuum is lightweight and easy to use. I would be comfortable giving it to my grandmother to use regularly. The hand-held device and battery are both pretty light, and the vacuum weighs 5.5 pounds total. FLOORS You get two attachments to clean floors, and both work well. The foam roller vacuum is for hard surfaces. It worked great on our hardwood floors. It has ample suction, and the roller is gentle and doesn't scatter debris. It also has a light for better visibility. The second floor attachment is for carpets, and it surprised me with how well it worked. In general, I think corded vacuums are superior for cleaning carpets. They get a deeper clean and are easier to maneuver because the weight is in the bottom. Plus, I don't think this stick vacuum would work on shag carpets. However, it works fine for short carpets, rugs, and mats. It picked up all the debris on the carpet, and I didn't have to deal with a cord. BATTERY & POWER I'm totally happy with the battery life and power of this vacuum. I cleaned a 3500-square-foot house on two occasions and have done multiple touch-up jobs, and I always maintained power and had good suction. FYI: the manufacturer says the battery lasts 55 minutes on low, 25 minutes on medium, and 9 minutes on high. But I never ran out of power working for an hour, turning it off and on. The suction is also excellent; you can tell when getting PET HAIR off furniture with the attachments. ATTACHMENTS Like many vacuums, this set includes a variety of attachments. These attachments are great for smaller or specific jobs. The pet hair attachment will delight pet owners; it really works! It did a great job cleaning my dog beds. ONE MORE THING This vacuum comes with a wall mount. This is huge because stick vacuums don't stand up alone; they fall over. And not all stick vacuums come with a wall mount; you have to pay extra for one. But you get a wall mount with this set to store the vacuum neatly and safely. Overall, I can't say enough nice things about this vacuum set. It works great for so many jobs. My only note is if you have a lot of carpet or shag carpet, a corded vacuum would be easier to use and get a deeper clean. But this stick vacuum performs amazingly. This vacuum was really hard for me to review, I really like it, its light, has good suction and is easy to use, however its 6x times the price as the competitors. And because of this high price for not that much better performance I can't rate it amazingly high. If money is no object this is a great pick for a vacuum, if you're like me and every dollar is important do yourself a favor and go with a significantly cheaper option. What I liked: - Easy to use, I was able to take it out of the box and be up and running in 20 minutes, putting it together wasn't hard at all. - The light on the front makes it easy to see debris on the floor - Lightweight, its easy pick up and use without a lot of the bulk that typically comes with vacuums What I didn't like: - The three separate power levels, why would I ever want less suction, just leave it on the highest level all the time - The plastic bin that holds the dust doesn't always stay clipped, multiple times during use I have accidentally opened it up and had all the dust dump over myself and the floor, a strong latch would fix this - The manual left a lot to be desired, and didn't really explain usage of each attachment and when to switch power levels Overall, I give this a grade of a "C-" the value of this item is low. I like the vacuum a lot, but I wouldn't buy it at this price point, I would be better to have 3 cheaper vacuums than this single one. Read more
