Im giving it 5 stars for everything with one exception...some silicone/glue around the corners is missing. While thinset and tile will cover it, I added my own adhesive in that area to seal it prior to installation. If you measure and cut accurately, this pops right in. Flush to my durock. Product leaves enough room in the back for sheet rock without touching it. Worth the money but a little more fragile than the plastic ones. Lastly, plastic niches are solid and may never breach. These are crazy easy to install, and the tile adheres to them just like the cement board. When you are done you are completely water sealed which I like. And the fact that they are not plastic and are the same thickness as the cement board was amazing you don't have to feather mastic like the plastic ones. I was a little bit concerned that there was no waterproofing on the front of the adjustable center piece (I should have noticed that in the pics(, so I used mine horizontally without the insert. I'm honestly not sure how comfortable I would have been tiling over just the unprotected foam front of that adjustable piece. It didn't seem right. So, one star less because I don't think it would have been hard for them to waterproof the adjustable center piece better. Anyway, they installed easily, and my shower looks great! Read more

This was the only less pricey niche I could find that would fit between our studs. The edges that wrap the outside are just the right thickness. The shelf is adjustable. The tile guy complimented the thick foam as he has worked with the plastic type which he said don’t hold up. After basic installation he coated it with red liquid to waterproof.
