Good rice and it stores well in the sealed bag.

This is great rice and about the best price on Amazon. This is the second time I've bought it and I just opened the last bag, purchased in '22 I believe, it was very clean and has a good taste. We mostly eat regular and brown basmati and are used to the royal burlap bags, which, while cool, don't have the best seal. This is much more practical long term storage than the burlap. I'm not really a jasmine connoisseur but this smells good and has a good texture, we've made several batches of regular and a few coconut rice batches. Don't have a rice cooker so we're old school with a pot on the stove. 1 cup rice, 1.5 cup water, bring to a boil and stir, put the lid on and put it on your lowest burner for 15 minutes, it turns out every time. A True Cook's Air Freshener

Sandor CleganeApril 6, 2024

You probably won't find a more fragrant and aromatic rice to prepare in your kitchen. It's a wonderful smell that puts a smile on your face, and lends itself to all of the other natural cooking fragrances found in your kitchen. Only two quick suggestions that I'll make for this rice. And it has nothing to do with the quality of the rice (which is great), but how to get the most of it. The first suggestion is that you rinse the rice very well before even using it to cook with. Whether you use a perforated rice washing bowl, or just a simple mixing bowl, the idea is the same. You'll want to rinse the rice until any water poured into a bowl with it comes out clear if you were to move the rice a round a bit using your hand. The second trick is to add a tablepoon of ghee or manteca (lard) to the boiling water right before you add your rice. It does a little something for the taste and texture of the rice. This rice is priced right, good for recipes that call for long-grain, tastes good, and will help you make magic out of even the simplest meals. Without question you need to order a large bag of it today. Read more

Good but not great

Lucas QuintanaFebruary 17, 2022

My bag did not indicate a country of origin, which I assume means that it is of United States origin. Since it didn't indicate that it was enriched I felt that there was no downside to rinsing the rice before making my first batch. I gave it two or three mild agitation rinses and proceeded to cook in my Zojirushi Rice Cooker on white rice setting. It is not as fragrant as Mahatma brand rice, which is a good value-brand store brand for Jasmine, IMO. It tasted good and had a good texture, just not quite Mahatma or higher end. I'd say for a value brand it is a great choice but for a stand alone fragrant jasmine it is not the best choice. I feel that after this bag is gone that I will continue to try other low cost brands and see if I can find a fragrant and texture rich jasmine at a sweet-spot on price. Read more

Iberia “Jasmine” Rice — Let’s Be Honest

Count ChromofluxDecember 13, 2025

Iberia jasmine rice is not—I repeat, not—jasmine rice. There is no flavor, no aroma, none of the signature fragrance that makes jasmine rice what it is. Iberia’s version is basically a pleasant, serviceable plain white rice. Period. I was thoroughly disappointed, and for a month I reluctantly ate this fraudulent stand‑in for my coveted jasmine rice. So here’s the verdict: if you’re looking for 18 pounds of an okay plain rice, this is an option. But jasmine rice it is absolutely not. Read more
