I have had extensive laser hair removal procedures, so I thought I might try to do a bit of touch-ups at home. Unfortunately, this laser seems to be a bit underpowered. My skin is extremely pale and my hair is medium brown. Overall, I am a very good candidate for laser hair removal because the light passes through my skin easily and is easily absorbed by my hair. While the guidance is to try this product over many months, I believe I can guess the effectiveness of this product based on my experience with professional laser hair removal. When you get your hair lasered off, it is supposed to burn away at the follicles. It is supposed to be mildly painful. At maximum power, this device is about a pain level of 2 on a scale of 100. I think that the maximum level is just BARELY strong enough for it to work on me. The cooling action is neat. Overall, I would say that your hair color and skin color should be a very good candidate for laser, because otherwise you won't see any effectiveness. This product should work for some people. I already tried this product for my legs for the first time but i will use it for maintenance of my armpits. This IPL laser is a great laser for a beginner. The different modes are easy to use and allow you to start with low intensity without any burning. I was excited to try this ipl device, since it’s as close to laser hair removal as you can get at home. So far, I’m happy with it. I haven’t seen results yet, but I haven’t finished all the treatments yet, and I know it might take longer than that too. I started with the weakest setting, then went to the middle setting, and now I’m using the strongest setting when I do it. There is the snapping rubber band feeling on the strongest setting. It’s not really painful, just uncomfortable. I never have burns or discoloration on my skin afterwards, and I haven’t had any skin irritation either. I like that this kit includes eye protection for when you use it. The glasses fold up to store easily with the device. I just store it in the box because the device and cord are a bit bulky.
