Great addition to mixer, making ice cream easy! Read more

Do not buy this Kitchen Aid ice cream maker attachment! I gave this to my granddaughter as a gift and on the third usage, it exploded in her freezer. I have seen another review on the Williams Sonoma website with the same issue. The bowl was fine for the first two useses but broke apart when she put it in the freezer for the 3rd chill. There is blue refergeraant all over her freezer and we do not know if it is a toxic substance. I have been unable to reach Kitchen-Aid. There is an endless wait when Icall them. Kitchen had was always a very respected company! Read more

The shaved ice feature is awesome, and the iced cream feature is easy to use. Read more
Very well built, smooth texture, makes ice cream fast I just hate that you have to leave in the freezer for 24hr before you use it. Easy to use and great taste when it’s done. Just like soft serve ice cream. Straight fresh ice cream when you’re done! Read more
Both attachments are easy to use! Both make delicious treats! Read more
These attachments work perfectly! I was able to make a ton of shaved ice. It comes with some tiny cups and lids to fill with water and make a little ice cubes that fit perfectly into the shaver. The lids fit on pretty well, but just be careful of the placement in the freezer. I was afraid that if they fell over, I would have icicles all over. So far though, that is not been an issue. In the instructions, it says to set the frozen cups on the counter for about 10 minutes so that it is easy to remove the ice from the cups. But I found that that is much too much time. Or maybe it is just that my house is warm, I don’t know. But I would say 2 to 5 minutes would be sufficient. The ice came out quickly, and I was able to easily shave it into a bowl. The instructions say to use the stir feature on the Kitchenaid, but I actually used it on level three. Stir was just a little too slow for me. The ice cream maker also works very well! It will not make hard ice cream, but it will make a softer type of ice cream. It does actually make it into ice cream though, which is awesome. The instructions suggest that you put the ice cream mixture into the refrigerator for at least six hours. I would suggest doing that. Just because it needs to be cold enough for it to work. So you do need to make sure that you have enough time to follow all of the directions. But once you have everything set up, is extremely simple. You can play with the different speeds on the KitchenAid, but I found that the slowest one is the best. Because it gives the mixture the necessary contact time with the frozen bowl. You also need to make sure that you have the bowl in the freezer for at least 24 hours before you even attempt to make ice cream. I just keep mine in the freezer most of the time at this point. The paddle attachment is very interesting with the way that it attaches to the KitchenAid. But it stays put, and works extremely well. I love that I am able to make ice cream so easily now. As long as I remember the prep time, lol. I would say it takes about 5-10 minutes or so once you start making the ice cream. If you make it in smaller batches, it will take much less time, of course. I love this set! It makes everyone so happy! Also, the parts on both the shaver and the Ice cream maker are extremely easy to clean. The instructions say that this is for the KitchenAid with the side arms, but I am using it with the KitchenAid without any arms on it, and both of these attachments work well this way. The ice cream bowl actually still screws into the bottom plate (like all of the KitchenAid bowls do) so you actually do not need the side arms. These attachments work with BOTH types:) Read more
Bowl has developed an interior bulge that prevents use. Before this happened, was a wonderful product. Now, worthless as we can't make ice cream with it. Read more
