…if you’re already used to buying expensive espresso tools. The magnetic ring, wood handle, and smooth action really shows how well thought out this is. Ikape makes great stuff. However, I’ve noticed a weird kink in my workflow. Because my Breville Barista Express has a little tab to start the dispensing of grounds, AND the Ikape tamper doesn’t fit inside the dosing ring, you have to do a bit of switching around. 1. Attach dosing funnel 2. Grind beans 3. Caaaaarefully swap the dosing ring for this WDT ring and tool 4. Distribute 5. Use a narrow tamper to push the grounds down a bit 6. Remove WDT ring 7. Tamp with weighted tamper 8. Brew The short of this is that the weighted tamper just isn’t really compatible with dosing rings. So you have to pre-tamp so you don’t make a mess when you remove the ring. Ways to improve: 1. Make a breville dispenser dosing ring that also works with this WDT tool 2. Make a calibrated tamper that fits into the dosing ring. But overall still great. And not worth removing a star. Read more

Beautiful and cool design It performs nicely. Definitely removes clumps and anything that can cause channeling in the puck before extraction. There really isn't anything I don't like about this product. Read more

The media could not be loaded. I have been using it for almost a year, it is a good product and very good quality but you have to be careful with the needles because they tend to bend easily, try to use it gently and place it in a place where its needles cannot bend. I have been using it for almost a year as I had mentioned and I have no problems with this product. It also includes additional needles in case you lose one or bend one. I can recommend this product. The actual device works great, but it's difficult to reinsert the case as the top of the case is tapered, and the needles seem to fan out. Instead of using the device as intended, I flipped it, removed the bottom, and drilled a hole in my tray to hold the device upside down. Now, the bottom part, which fans out, is pointing toward the top, and it's effortful to put the handle with needles back into storage. One star off for making it a bit difficult to get the needles back into the holder without this flip optimization. It would have been great if the design of this device were this way from the start, but I was happy to be able to make this adjustment and improve the effort of putting the needles back into place. Other than that, it works quite well and does what it's designed for. Read more

This is my third product from IKAPE and so far i am not disappointed. It's very nicely built, the perfect size, it brings a full set of extra needles instead of a couple of replacement like my previous wdt and it has a stand so no more stabbing my hand 😁. What I noticed right away compared to my old wdt is the niddles are smaller and thinner making it slide smoother while distributing the coffee grounds with less resistance. Also the niddles are very secure in place and not coming off like my previous wdt tool. Ive only used it about 4 times, but so far this wdt from IKAPE did not disappoint and made a perfect addition to coffee corner. Read more

Device is well made, and looks great. Could use more depth adjustment, especiall when using the included funnel. When using the funnel, there is quite a gap between the tip of the needle and the bottom of the portafiltner. Needles do not appear to be user replaceable. Device leaves a very noticeable ridge of coffee at the edge of the portafilter. Declumping is only one of the benefits of WDT. Level distribution across the portafilter is important to prevent channeling for even extraction and provide consistency from pull to pull. Looks like I'll be going back to a manual tool. Read more
