I was very leery of purchasing this crockpot since I’ve never heard of the brand. My other 3 are all Hamilton Beach crockpots. This little bugger cooks great on each heating level of warm, low and hot. I appreciate it has a red light above the control showing the item is on and off. That was a must!! My initial recipe to test the crockpot was sloppy joes. I partially browned the hamburger and onion on the stove prior to placing the ingredients into the crockpot. I initially placed the heat control on low for 2 hours. When I checked it, it was hot without boiling which was perfect. I then turned the heat control to high for approximately an hour. Very minimal boiling around the edges was seen which told me it was cooking without burning to the sides. I am very pleased with the product. The size is perfect at 1.5 quart. The sloppy joes I made equaled 1 qt. It was so quick and easy to clean up afterwards. Nothing was burned to the sides and it had cooked thoroughly! Have not used this yet, but I love the size and the color. I got it with most intentions of making chili con carne and northern or pinto bean soup. It is a perfect size for one or two people! You can do a pound of meat with onions, a can of stewed tomatoes and juices, partial can of green chilies, can of pinto beans and part of a packet of McCormick mild chili seasoning. That’ll equal 5-6 cups of chili. That’s a good 2 -4 meals plus a side topping for cornbread chili pizza, chili dogs, a fried burrito, chili cheese fries, a Frito chili pie, or added beside or to with melted cheese dip and tortilla chips for me! I've been cooking in crockpots for years. This is perfect for a meal for two. At home I prefer to cook larger quantities, but this size is ideal for the camper, where space is extremely limited. My favorite (so far) is a couple of chicken breasts with potatoes, carrots and onion. Throw in some broth & spices, then let it cook all day. Lots of compliments, and it took just a few minutes to throw it together. You can even assemble it the night before, if mornings are busy, and keep it in the fridge till you're ready to start it cooking. To have a home-cooked meal when you're ready for it, after spending the day doing other things (not in a kitchen!) is awesome. Highly recommend. But check the size - this is a small crock pot. A lot of reviewers complain after receiving an item when they could've measured in advance and known what they'd be getting. Measure first & you'll know whether this suits your purposes.
