This is a mid-sized portable speaker, rated at 40 watts. It is shaped like a pill and has two 2 - 2.5 inch speakers. The speakers have cool RGB ring shaped lights around them. You can see the speakers pumping when they are on. It is a really nice visual effect. These also have lights that go across them. The sound is decent, it sounds a good bit less than 40 watts, I have speakers that are as loud, that are rated at 10 watts. These have good midrange and highs, but lack bass. If you can get them for under $30, I think they are a good value. The battery in this is a good size, it will last for hours on a single charge. We probably have too many bluetooth speakers, but I really wanted to try another one. This one has really impressed me at the $30 price point! The sound quality is pretty good, it isn't at the same fidelity of higher end Bose or JBL; but it's no where near those price points as well. Given the size constraints I am exceedingly happy with how these sound. There's not a lot of highs and the mids can be a little overbearing for some songs, however with a good EQ this is easily remedied. The lows are really impressive at this size and price point; I've been burned by some of the cheaper speakers like this. This speaker makes those look very bad, at a cheaper price point if you can grab this at $30. The volume of this size speaker is really impressive for this size and price. I was not expecting it to sound this clear while at higher volumes. I have no complaints about the volume or the sound quality of the speaker. This size and weight is perfect for throwing in a cup holder, or just sliding it into a water bottle holder in a backpack. With it being IPX6 rated I feel comfortable if it gets some rain or moisture on it. For connections I really like the fact that it still has a 3.5mm connector. It seems that this is going away with more and more bluetooth speakers and I enjoy the ability to plug in older devices. The bluetooth connection is strong and works even when I was walking around the house with my phone still in my pocket. Setting up the initial connection was pain free and quick. Overall, at this price point and quality it's hard to find a better low cost speaker (I wouldn't say cheap as the quality of this speaker is impressive at this price point). Read more

Over the years I've accumulated... a lot... of bluetooth speakers. Some brand-name ones, usually gifted to me, and some cheap ones that I've bought for a trip that ended up surviving and just getting added to the pile. This one is competitively priced for the sound quality, (roughly $40 at review time) and has a cool pairing feature that more of the newer speakers are starting to include. I went back and bought a second one of these after using this speaker for a few weeks around the house. Having two is a sweet upgrade for sound in the garage and back patio! Pairing them is straightforward: power both speakers on at the same time and once you hear “Bluetooth mode,” push the TWS or EQ button twice. They remember their connection, which is nice. The size is perfect for tossing in a cupholder; the sound is cookout or campfire-sized without being overwhelmingly loud. I'm sort of curious about trying to play media from a TF card, but can't find one to verify how it operates. The 3.5mm jack is useful on occasion—if you have an older media player, a wired connection is appreciated! Battery life is all-day-ish; at 80% volume, I played it for a full 8-9hr day of work around the house and garage. It charges via USB-C and comes with a cable but no wall-wart. The finish is pretty nice; the main body has a fabric type covering that makes it feel 'premium' and the ends are plastic and rubber. I like that the ports are sealed. I wouldn't dunk this speaker (or any speaker) but also wouldn't worry about it getting splashed poolside. The I/O ports are sealed with a rubber cover and the subwoofers at the end appear sealed as well. An IPX6 means Ingress Protection [dust rating][water rating]. So, they didn't test for dust, but did test for powerful water pressure. If you want submersion, look for IPX7 or IPX8. Read more

I picked this up because I wanted a portable speaker that could actually get loud enough to fill a room without sounding thin. I’ve been using it around the house and a couple of times outside when friends were over. The first thing that hit me was the volume. This thing is powerful, and it doesn’t fall apart when you turn it up. The bass is surprisingly strong for the size, and it gives music some real punch instead of that hollow sound smaller speakers sometimes have. In regular use it’s been easy and reliable. It connects quickly, stays connected, and plays loud and clear without me constantly fiddling with settings. The lights are a fun extra, but the sound is really what makes it stand out. It’s not a tiny pocket speaker, so it’s more something you move room to room rather than throw in a jacket pocket.
