The media could not be loaded. This isn't the first set of clippers that I've got from this brand, and it certainly won't be the last. As an amputee (right hand vs press machine), doing things like clipping nails, especially for my kids, isn't the easiest or fun thing to do, for me. Nail clipping takes a little bit of time for everyone, but it is normally a much longer process for me. These nail clippers have made it much easier for me to do. The way the handle is made, having certain areas raised so they're like grippers, changed the whole process for me. I find it much easier to hold onto using my thumb and nub. Because the clipper part is super sharp (not kidding, they are REALLY sharp), one good squeeze, and it cuts into the nail and makes it so much faster. The angle is perfect for toes, but it also works great for fingers as well. Just keep in mind they're super sharp. There is a little built in file on the opposite side of the metal portion with gripping ability, but you have to remove the blue tape. I use tweezers to remove the tape because it makes it easier, much faster and it doesn't mess it up that way. There's also a double ended hook type of tool included, and it is perfect for anyone with thick nails or ingrown nails as well. You just use the hook to help lift the corner of the nail that you're trying to get out, but make sure you do it slowly and carefully so you don't hurt your skin in the process. Both the clippers and the hook are packaged in a little tin case with a lid, making it easy to keep them together and clean. Overall I am very happy with this set of nail clippers and I will absolutely continue to purchase from this company. I forgot one important tidbit and had to come back to add it. The only issue for me about this set is how difficult it is to get the hook tool out of the tin case. It took me longer to get the tool out than it took for me to do any nails. These are pretty good clippers. They are fairly large and I feel better for feet than hands but works on all of your nails nonetheless. These clippers feel very durable and well constructed. Blades are plenty sharp to cut through your larger/thicker nails. The angle is a little different for me and takes getting used to but I can see how that helps to minimize/prevent ingrown nails. I have a long history of getting ingrown nails mostly from my clipping habits. So far with the last couple of uses there are no signs of new ingrown nails. Read more
I am a big fan of Dr. Mode nail clippers for senior adults, and this ingrown edgy nail clipper is a welcome addition to the ones that I have previously purchased to help my elderly mother trim her nails. As a diabetic, she has to be extremely careful not to snip her skin and these angled clippers help her to safely trim them without injury. The slanted blade helps her to easily get under the corner of her nails (even thick ones) to start the trim, and the ergonomic handle is easy for her to grip and hang onto. The little nail lifter tool has flattened ends so it gently slides under the nail edge to lift and clean debris. (I also used it to scrape off the blue sticker that comes on the attached nail file under the top handle of the clippers.) This set comes with a metal container for storage which makes finding your clippers in a messy drawer so much easier (and you can write on it with a permanent marker to label what’s inside). These clippers are quite useful for working out ingrown nails with their angled point. It makes it easy to get them into the edge of the nail and lift it out, which can be quite a task with regular clippers. Their large, sturdy handles give you plenty of leverage to clip thick nails without any flex. They do have a small file on the handle as well, but I've found it too small to really do anything useful with. The included hook tool also works well for getting under those stubborn nails and lifting them up. Overall, for the price, I think they're great! Read more
These ingrown toenail clippers are a good way to deal with painful ingrown toenails. While the angled head helps with access to the nail, the real benefit to these clippers is their size. These clippers are large enough that you get a lot of leverage when clipping thick nails. It seems the leverage ratio also gives you a lot of control when pressing the lever to cut the nails. That is important for me because I sometimes accidentally get some skin between the blades when trying to navigate around the most stubborn ingrown nails. They clippers come in a nice aluminum case. This aluminum case will help keep me from losing them, as it readily accepts a label so that I can find them quickly. One of the best things about these clippers is the little nail lifter tool that comes with them. You can use the nail lifter tool to make it easier to get underneath the ingrown nails. My husband and I both love these. We older, arthritic, especially in the hands, and it is so difficult to cut our toenails in general without a specially designed set of clippers, which we got. But for ingrown nails, or just hard to get corners, they don't work that well. These clippers fill the bill. They are easy to use, right or left handed, very sharp, do not require a lot of pressure, which is what we appreciate the most. I can't believe how inexpe5they were to the quality of the product.
