This giraffe ball opens up with a Velcro strip and you pull out a hard plastic orb that is put together with two tiny Phillips head screws. I was able to get one screw out but the other would not budge. After using a number of expensive tools, the screw ended up stripped. Either it has been threaded in the ball at an angle or the item had been glued in. The screw is cheap, made in China, and the Phillips head is too flat for American Phillips screwdrivers. The screws are embedded into the ball so deeply that you cannot see what you are doing which adds to the misery. The company sent a replacement with no difficulties though I had to pay the return shipping which was disappointing because I considered the item defective. I mailed them a letter about the shipping so will have to repost when they respond. As for the replacement, the seller had already unloosened the screws for me so I inserted the three AAA batteries, screwed it all back together and watched the action. The ball is a very hard plastic, and my little terriers could not get their mouth around it as it must be about 4 inches in diameter. They could carry it around by the tail. The action is pretty violent and one of my dogs was shocked at the movement and dropped it giving it to my other terrier. She is the one who destroys mosts talking toys. The sound was moderately loud, just right in my opinion. With all the sound and action the batteries wear down pretty quickly though which means you have to take all those dang screws lose again. Did I say the batteries are in a compartment where you have to take a screw lose? The item is what I would consider expensive and it probably isn't the best for a mid-sized dog. However, if you are looking for something a larger dog might play with that they cannot kill, this might be the one just be forewarned about the screws issue and good luck! I gave this 3 stars because I deducted a star for price and a star for the problem with the screws. Read more

I purchased (3) & One Broke When Mr Dag Whipped So Hard it hit the Woodwork & the Gear to spin The Weight Broke But It Still Squeaked & Lasted over two years, One Had The Covering torn Off, So Wife Sewed up a Piece of material & I put a draw string & tail on it & Our Dog Loved it, Our Pet Passed away at 15 & we Packed up the toys & stored them, This Year we Bought Another puppy & she is Crazy Nuts & in killer mode when that toy SQUEAKS With These Two Toys. Best interaction Toy We Have Ever Purchased. I use rechargeable batteries & they Last Months. Like that it really engaged my active dog in self play. Disliked that Velcro is not holding up. Began fraying during first use of about 45min. Would be nice if volume could be controlled. Had to put tape over speaker to dampen sound so dog would play with it. Read more
