Entey level sooter in terms of power and no suspension, but better than others in its class

Amazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product This scooter impressed me in several small, subtle ways. I’ve tried other low-end electric scooters in roughly the same under-$200 price range, and I’d rate this one above average mainly because of some build details that others skip. For example, the four screws that hold the handlebar and control section to the main frame stem came with thread-locking compound already applied. On a previous scooter I owned, those same screws did not, and they kept loosening until I had to buy thread locker (and two additional screws, since two literally came out during use) and fix it myself. I really appreciated seeing that done correctly from the factory. Another small thing I liked is that the brake cable has a protective outer covering. It’s a very minor detail, but it does make the scooter feel a bit more solid and better put together. This scooter doesn’t have suspension or shock absorbers like higher-end models, but it still seemed slightly less harsh over bumps than my other budget, non-suspension scooter. Power-wise, it’s a 350-watt motor, which is standard for this budget class, but it handled small inclines a little better than I expected. I assume that’s where the peak power rating helps, allowing brief increases above the continuous 350-watt output. Speed-wise, it doesn’t top out very high—maybe around 15 MPH for me on flat roads—but to be honest, that’s about as fast as feels stable and safe for an entry-level scooter with no road-smoothing suspension. It’s also worth noting that these “budget class” scooters aren’t just about saving money. They’re lighter than higher-output scooters with suspension, which matters for portability—especially if you live in a third-floor apartment and have to carry it up and down stairs, or lift it in and out of a car trunk. Lastly, like most scooters, this one comes with a nice, useful phone app which can be used for a host of things, including setting unit types, max speeds, tracking GPS locations, etc. Overall, for a relatively inexpensive entry-level scooter in this category, it feels a bit better built than most and, so far, has held up well in real use. Very nice low-cost electric scooter with some nice features

If you are not familiar with Amazon Vine, it is basically Amazon trading free* products for honest reviews. You see a lot of Vine reviews that are cookie cutter and based on templates. I aim to make my reviews honest and non-cookie cutter (other than this intro and disclaimer). * These items are not actually free as Vine members pay income tax on the items they receive. Therefore, I will never order something from Vine unless I actually intend to use it. I think this is important for readers to understand because it means I will never order an item just to provide a fake five star review to a company. If I review something as good, it means I actually enjoyed using it or it fills its intended purpose correctly. Items that don't meet my expectations will be reviewed accordingly. Why I ordered this item: My dad, wife and kid all have electric scooters so I felt I needed to get one too in order to join the family biker gang. Likes: * This thing feels STURDY. I didn't know what to expect, but the metal is thick and the entire thing feels like it will last. * Setup and use are both very easy. The entire setup was basically learning how to unfold it and then putting four screws in to affix the handlebars to the riser shaft. * It's fun and easy to ride. I scooted around our neighborhood for 30 minutes with my kid for my review and we had a blast. * I -love- the built in headlight. This will make it usable in the evenings! * Both the brake and the throttle are very functional. The brake is maybe a little too responsive, but I will get used to it. No likes: * It's not quite as powerful as I had hoped it would be. I don't think it could get up to 18MPH, at least not with my carcass on it. * I don't know about the battery life claim. I don't want to get 10 miles from my house and have it die, so I will probably just keep it to around 10 miles roundtrip. Would I pay full price for this product: Yes Final thoughts: I think that for the price this is a great deal. My dad's scooter cost him something like $600, and while it's definitely beefier than this, I don't think it's actually any better functionally. Read more

Fun, functional scooter

I have never owned a scooter before, and this one feels really solid and was super easy to assemble. I wasn't initially sure exactly where to plug it in to charge it, but then I found the lightning bolt icon on the left side near the kickstand, and was able to charge it easily after that. Also, it said to power the scooter on, you need to do a short press of the power button. I found this to not be exactly true because you need to press down for a couple of seconds before it powers on. The throttle is super easy to use, as is the break, and I like the easy to use bell. It's surprisingly easy to ride, even if you don't have much experience. It does feel similar to writing a bike for me. I do like that it is foldable, however it is somewhat difficult to fold down, so if you plan on needing to fold and unfold it regularly, this might not be the easiest scooter to get compacted down to a smaller size. It goes plenty fast for anyone to travel safely, and I would not want it to go any faster. It's got a pretty design, and I like the non-slip surface so that you can grip the scooter with your shoes. It's plenty big for adults, but I could see adolescents using it as well. The battery life scenes completely sufficient for being able to travel several miles round trip, but I would bring the charging cord with me just in case. I found it to last plenty long for all of my average commuting distances. The only complaint would be that it's a little bumpy of a ride, and it would be nice if it had a little bigger, wider tires for if you hit any spots that have gravel. Read more
