While clearly packaged for western audiences, this smart selection of green tea is perfectly acceptable. I'm not sure why other reviewers have such concerns on pricing and size--this is about the price and size one pays for premium Japanese green tea *in Japan*. Finding it delivered to your doorstep in America in the same condition with a similar quality is not too shabby. The aroma of the tea is quite nice. Green tea can be bitter and astringent, that is one of the qualities. However, too bitter and too astringent are of course unpleasant. Precision in brewing can also affect taste. And taste itself can be very personal. Green tea from Uji Kyoto in Japan is a specialty like no other. This single cultivar tea is carefuled raised and shaded before picking. This is what contributes to its startling bright colour. Being ceremonial grade, it is (or should be) the first harvest, so you get the sweetest freshest young leaves, ready to drink. Overall this is a nice pleasant tea. It comes vacuum packed, so, really, even if the tin is opened somehow, the tea inside is still safe. Read more

I recently tried the Isshiki Matcha Powder - Premium Ceremonial Grade Yabukita Green Tea, and I must say, it lived up to my high expectations. Here are some of my thoughts on this exquisite matcha: - **Flavor Profile**: The first sip revealed a rich, umami flavor that was both smooth and delicate. Unlike some matcha powders I’ve tried, there was no bitterness whatsoever. It has a natural sweetness that balances beautifully with its earthy tones. - **Color**: The vibrant green hue was striking, indicating its high quality. It had that beautiful deep green that only premium matcha can achieve, making it a joy just to look at. - **Texture**: When whisking it, the powder mixed effortlessly in water, producing a frothy consistency that felt luxurious. There were no clumps, which shows the meticulous grinding process that went into making this matcha. - **Aroma**: The aroma was divine! The fresh grassiness filled my kitchen, bringing a sense of calm and zen as I prepared my ritual. It’s like a mini escape to Kyoto with every brew. - **Versatility**: I’ve used it in various ways—hot matcha lattes, smoothies, and baked goods. In each preparation, it held its own, enhancing the dishes without overpowering them. - **Serving Size**: The 30g packaging provides about 20 servings, which is great for someone like me who enjoys matcha daily. I found that a little went a long way, making it a worthwhile investment. - **Packaging**: The packaging is simple yet elegant, ensuring freshness and keeping the matcha shielded from light and air. It’s easy to reseal, which is a plus. - **Health Benefits**: I appreciate that this matcha is not only delicious but comes packed with antioxidants and health benefits. It gives me a nice energy boost without the jitters. Overall, if you're looking for an authentic Japanese matcha experience, I highly recommend Isshiki Matcha Powder. It has truly become a staple in my tea routine, bringing both pleasure and a touch of tranquility to my day. Read more
I drink matcha regularly and have tried a wide range of brands, and this Isshiki Ceremonial Grade Matcha from Kyoto stands out as one of the best I’ve had. It is worth every penny for its quality. Vibrant Color & Remarkable Freshness Right when you open the tin, you’re greeted with a brilliant emerald-green powder—exactly what you hope to see in genuine ceremonial matcha. The texture is extremely fine and silky, with no gritty bits or dull tones. Smooth, Balanced Taste The flavor is wonderfully gentle and refined. It’s naturally sweet with a clean, grassy profile and a soft umami note. There’s no harsh bitterness, making it perfect for whisking into a traditional bowl of matcha with a rich, creamy foam. Authentic Ceremonial Quality Made from Yabukita tea leaves grown in Kyoto, this matcha really delivers the quality you expect from a true ceremonial-grade product. It feels crafted for mindful moments—far better than the “ceremonial” blends that taste more like latte-grade powder in disguise. Calm, Focused Energy The caffeine effect is smooth and steady. It gives you a clear, focused boost without the jittery feeling or crash that comes with coffee. It’s ideal for work, study, or morning rituals. Works Well in Lattes Too Although it shines most when prepared straight, it blends beautifully into matcha lattes as well. You don’t need much to get a rich flavor, and the 30g tin offering about 20 servings feels fair for the quality. Truly Japanese & Thoughtfully Packaged The packaging is clean, airtight, and genuinely sourced from Japan. Everything about it—from the aroma to the texture—feels authentically high-grade. Overall If you’re searching for real, ceremonial-quality Japanese matcha that’s vivid, smooth, and full of character, Isshiki is a fantastic choice. It’s a top-tier option whether you’re already a matcha lover or just beginning to explore premium grades. Absolutely recommended for anyone who wants their daily matcha to feel special. Read more
