Solid AVR - great sound musically and movies. So far everything has worked well - Roon, Tidal, Air Play, etc. I have a 5.1.4 system and it, after setup, is well balanced. I am getting full resolution for SACDs from my old Sony Blu-ray player through HDMI. The phone app is a bit too simple and the EQ app needs to be more automated. Hopefully these will be updated over time. Also the manual needs more detail on setup. Otherwise it would have been a 5 star review. And to top it off it looks great in white! Read more

This a very simple AVR with premium amplifiers from a company that knows audio. Great sound with a 5.2.4 Dolby Atmos setup being the maximum capacity. Can also handle a 7.2.2 setup if you prefer rear surrounds with Atmos up front. The EZ SET EQ is free and works well on iPhone to eq the system. Android phones require an external mic. I think it only equalizes up to 500 Hrz. DIRAC software is also available for additional cost to bring sound to the highest level possible. You will have to set your speaker distances up manually without DIRAC. With a disto and a sound meter that can do C Weighting this won’t fail to impress. Sound is clear and clean. Recommended. I will start with very aesthetically pleasing. Very neat looking and a little ambient light underneath just adds to it. Definitely a lot different to set up and calibrate than any other receiver I have owned. To get it on WiFi I had to download app and get it set up through the app. Once connected I did firmware update which was lengthy. Not sure if any firmware update will take this long or just initial. After that I used a separate app to do the ez eq calibration. This involves moving around your listening area for a minute per speaker set. After that I measured and set the distance of my speakers. I had a DB measuring microphone that I used to set each speaker to the appropriate level. I also set cross over ( most people say never set below 80) In saying all of that I believe you can purchase Dirac live for an additional 260 from their site. I didn’t look into it because of price how that all works. Definitely more of a pain than typical receiver but shouldn’t have to be done often. After that I spun up some movies and I really like the level of clarity coming out of this thing. So far everything sounds clear and great. Overall I am really enjoying it and it just seems like no other receiver out there Edit: I had to return. I was having all sorts of issues with Dolby Vision I then connected my stuff directly to TV and no more Dolby vision issues but then sound drop outs with earc I really was hoping it wasn’t the receiver so I bought expensive HDMI cables just in case but same issues. Returned and bought another receiver and now no issues Read more
