I actually bought two ocean jasper balls, both used from Amazon Warehouse, which I mention only because of the mixup below not being the seller’s fault. The first ended up not being ocean jasper at all, but trolleite. I’d never seen trolleite before, but matched my unknown orb up to the seller’s pictures and there she is! It’s gorgeous. It is a slightly brittle stone, so there are cracks surrounding the orb, but those are expected and not flaws. It wasn’t what I ordered, but I was NOT sending it back (seriously, it’s gorgeous), so I just reordered the ocean jasper. This time, I got my ocean jasper! It’s also a beautiful sphere, more green vs pink (the ones pictured are quite pink), and excellent quality. I really hope it’s real. It’s hard to tell with obsidian when it’s polished like this. It feels heavyweight, the quality feels nice, the stand they send with it is cute, and it’s honestly perfect for scrying. Even if it isn’t real obsidian, it’s a perfect black mirror. I saw spheres of selenite this size in a shop just before the plague hit us. Wasn't able to get back to the place and buy any, so figured that was that. I was SO delighted to discover that this large size was available from JIC Gem, and cautiously placed an order...selenite (in my experience, anyway) is pretty darn delicate when carved. True to my previous experiences buying from JIC Gem, I figured it would be a safe bet. I was right! This piece arrived in PERFECT condition, wonderfully protected from the rough handling it obviously was subjected to, as the packing box gave sad testimony to...this vendor is always so wonderfully careful with the packaging of their stones. I have never had a problem, and I have purchased a number of amethyst pieces from them. I am deducting one star, however, as this lovely shimmering orb is definitely NOT a true sphere by any sense of the word. The carving is a bit lumpy and although it appears fine on my stand (I had a wood one on hand), when you take the orb up to hold it, the irregularities are obvious to the touch and to the eye. I find this actually rather charming, as it assures me that this was not carved in some sort of machined assembly-line situation, but rather by hand. I guess it all depends on how you "see" it! I Love, Love, LOVE THIS Golden Silk Jade sphere 4 inch ball! It’s beautiful, flawless, just the right size, and exceeded my expectations! The wooden stand that came with it is the perfect way to display this gorgeous crystal sphere ball, and it looks amazing on my shelf. It arrived quickly and both the sphere ball and stand were in perfect condition, as JLC encased them in multiple layers of bubble wrap. Thank you JLC!!
