Gigi's husband here. I installed this in a ceiling joist in my unfinished basement. Here's a few tips. I did not fully tighten the 4 short black bolts during assembly; allow them some wiggle room when attaching the assembly to the joist, then tighten them up after it's mounted. I used a 7/32" drill bit for the screw holes and a 1/2-inch socket to tighten the screws. The bar is sturdy and works as advertised. Read more

Do you want to get stronger arms, shoulders and back muscles? A pull up/hanging bar can help you do that... build quality on this ranges from good to great. The metal is strong. The pieces feel like quality. The weakness is in the screws and hardware they give you. They just need to put a bit better quality into that to make it really excellent overall and a five instead of a four star. Mountability is good, just make sure you have space and it helps to have a quality drill to do the job. Once it is up, safety is good as it feels strong and solid. The design is a 4 out of 5 overall. It does the job, but where the two pieces meet in the middle feels a bit wonky until you have it fully together and installed. We use it more for hanging by our arms to stretch out before workouts. Defective Chinese trash. The holes cut into the thin metal center tube were not tapped properly and the assembly screws would just spin freely instead of tightening down properly. Un-impressive build quality. Read more
