These used to be "specialty tools", and the pricing was crazy. Now you can get a really good set of basic, and even some advanced watch tools for a great price. I bought this to replace an older one that I paid WAY MORE for, back in the 1900's. It still worked great, till I lost it. I was initially disappointed in the quality, it's solid enough, but the pins have a bit of "play" to them, they're not as stiff as my old tool. But it's solid enough, and quite strong. Already used it on some slot-backed watches that are pressure tested, and quite tough to open, and it worked perfectly. After using it a handful of times (I have a lot of watches, and tend to do a battery swap on them every XX months), no issues at all, and the pins have not bent/deformed at all. Even if it lasts me a few years, it is more than worth the price. Read more

honestly works like a charm. basically first time used it and already worth the money. found some old quartz watches from the 90's and within a couple of minutes they were back to ticking. imagine the time, effort and probably money i saved from going to a watch place with 4 different watches and 4 different batteries. would highly recommend it also it comes with its little instruction pamphlet in case you're worried about not doing it right. This device did the job for me, but not too easily. A lot of your success with this tool will depend upon how tightly the back case was screwed on by the last person that replaced the battery (or by the factory). In my case the back of my Fossil watch was on very tight, and it did not yield easily. It was hard for my hands to apply pressure and get the desired leverage to make this work. At one point I was about to give up. The positive reviews told me that this could work and often did work, but in the case of this watch, it was not working. Finally I prayed and got the idea of attaching a small pair of vice-grip pliers to it and after a few tries this gave me the leverage to loosen the back. When it first began to give way and turn, I was elated. This device should work for most people and most watches, but not all. I think the type that has three prongs and a longer handle would be significantly better and would handle even the difficult cases. But I plan to tighten this somewhat loosely once I get the replacement battery, so that next time it will not be so much of a pain. Read more

I didn't want to scratch my watch by using pliers to open the back. I ordered this replacement kit not expecting much and was very wrong! It makes the task so much easier, I could not have been more pleased. It is very simple to use, wrench adjustment works like an adjustable wrench and allows you to easily apply enough pressure to open the back. The other tool makes removing the band for access to the back quick and easy. I definitely recommend. Read more

The posts were too big for the notches on a child sized watch and would not fit. Probably fine for an adult sized watch but not smaller. Function and form solid. Like I said cant fault the tool as it was made for adult watches. Read more
