This jewelry cleaner is excellent, but I do have some minor issues with it. The tool comes packaged beautifully, even my husband said Wow, love that packaging! I have ultrasonic cleaners and jewelry cleaning solutions, but the problem is getting into the parts where the stone is set - generally underneath and the sides of the stone. I’ve found the ultrasonic bath and even jewelry cleaning solutions don’t really get to the grime underneath which can really dull the sparkle. I charged up the tool which has a very clever holder for rings embedded in the top. The holder worked ok, but I did have some issues trying to get underneath the setting. I put a blob of the cleaning solution on the diamond. Here is my first minor issue: The cleaning solution which is a gel like substance doesn’t pump smoothly, so when you do pump it, it shoots out. My first pump ended up in the sink. What I found after cleaning a few items was that it’s easier to pump the solution onto a plate and then dip the brush into the solution and spread it onto the piece you will be cleaning before you turn on the brush. This ensures you don’t waste the solution as well as making sure the product is spread evenly over the piece. Next, I turn on the tool and brush away. The tool has two brushes - see the photo. Here is my next minor issue: The brush on top is a stiff pointy brush that is outstanding at getting to the stone in the setting, both underneath and the sides. And actually, as I was cleaning, I only used this brush for most of my jewelry. I also cleaned a tennis bracelet and that was the only piece where I used the larger brush to cover more surface area. But overall, I prefer the pointy one. All in all this is an excellent tool. My jewelry came out beautifully. Here’s my final minor issue: The cost. As of the time of this writing it is $159. My recommendation would be to cut back on the packaging - it’s over the top for a jewelry cleaner. Keep the bag though to store all the pieces. Recently I went to my local jewelry store to have an item repaired and asked them to clean my diamond ring. They did a good job cleaning the ring and then told me it would cost $15.00. So at least in my area, the days of free diamond cleaning are gone. Since then I have been looking for a way to clean my ring that does a better job than an old toothbrush and dish soap. JULI is The Answer! This sonic jewelry cleaning brush is so simple to use and does a great job. There are two speeds so you can do a thorough deep cleaning of your jewelry. Charging the JULI Cleaning Brush was simple and quick. The light flashes while it is charging and then turns off when it's done making it easy to know when it's ready to use. The accompanying instruction booklet has clear instructions that are easy to follow. It is important to note that this tool is designed to work with "diamonds, and other extra-hard gems . . . set securely in solid, precious metal like platinum and gold." It isn't recommended for softer gemstones or metals that could be damaged. The photo really doesn't do justice to how much sparkle my ring now has. As I am typing this, there are brilliant rainbow flashes of light reflecting from the diamonds. Given the current price of getting my ring professionally cleaned, this product is a great value for the money, and I will be able to clean my ring more frequently than if I had to go to the jeweler.
