I have a lot of very thick hair; letting it air dry is usually a 24+ hour process. I don't like using heat tools, but sometimes "needs must," you know? And on those occasions when I DO need a hair dryer, this is a nice one to have on hand - and small enough to carry with me easily. I do appreciate the light weight of it; my primary hair dryer is on the heavy side and causes discomfort when I have to maneuver it into certain positions but this one is light enough that it doesn't cause any offset pressure to my wrist or thumb joints, which is a big plus. It doesn't make my scalp itchy the way my big one does sometimes (over-drying the scalp) but it also doesn't do the job in what I would consider a reasonable amount of time. This drier is lightweight and smaller than normal with just as much power! It does seem to not get less hot, and cool down slightly if you keep the dryer on the same spot. The cord was the same length as our normal hair dryer and plenty long to maneuver when sitting near the plug. I think for kids or older people, this "smart temperature control" could be helpful. For myself, I prefer to control the heat more directly, especially when I want to use a round brush to add some curl to my hair. That doesn't work on the cooler settings it defaults to when the hair is more dry / hot. Read more

I got this for my wife. She is still not sure she likes it compared to her existing one she uses day to day. She said she likes the light weight of this and will keep trying it out. She is hoping it will dry her hair faster, but said it doesn't have the power that her existing hair dryer has. I will update more has she tries it when we travel.
