The block for these knives is dangerous. Do not use it. it is half cheap plastic and half some sort of thin metal. Mine came in two pieces and I was barely able to get it out of the box without cutting myself. The knife handles are also composed of some very slick plastic. If your hands are even the slightest bit damp while using them, it will be difficult to keep a grip. And these knives are garish or maybe tacky? Probably both. I know that style is subjective so that's not a factor in the rating. I kind of got that sense from the promo images, but thought maybe they would look better in person. They do not, unless you're one of the original cast members of Golden Girls or possibly Scarface. Otherwise, these things probably won't look right in your kitchen. All that said, the blades are very sharp and they cut well. The two smaller knives are a bit heavier than comparable ones in my cheap knife set, while the bread knife and larger knife weigh about the same. I've never had one of those rectangle-headed knives before so can't compare it to anything, but as with the others, it is quite sharp. While I'm definitely not using the block they came with (and terrified to try the sharpener which is connected to the plastic half of that death trap) I have used several of them over the last week and they have performed well. Throw away that knife block and they aren't a bad set of knives. At least so far. Read more

This 7-piece kitchen knife block set is perfect for everyday cooking. The knives are really sharp right out of the box, and I love that it comes with its own sharpener to keep everything in good shape. The stainless steel feels sturdy and hasn’t shown any rust. The handles are comfortable to hold, and the black design looks clean and modern on the counter. The block keeps everything organized without taking up too much space. Great quality for the price — definitely recommend for anyone needing a solid, affordable knife set! Read more

This is genuinely one of the most poorly constructed knife sets I’ve ever come across. Yes, the listing says the handles are plastic, but this is the cheapest, flimsiest plastic imaginable. If I didn’t have the cuts to prove otherwise, I would have assumed these were toy knives. The real danger is the knife block. It’s made entirely of thin plastic and is so poorly assembled that it literally came apart in my hands. As I pulled it out of the box, the whole top of the block popped off, sending the knives loose, and I ended up cutting three fingers on one hand. Just from unpacking it. Between the low-quality materials and the downright dangerous construction, this set is a hard pass. Save your money, and your fingers. Read more

Overall they look pretty good at first glance, but as others have said, the holder is poorly designed, and build quality just isn't amazing. For light tasks, the knives do the job and seem somewhat sharp, but I wouldn't trust these for frequent use or heavier or high-precision tasks. Unfortunately they just aren't super-high quality and don't feel great. Read more

Not sure what I was expecting, the knives are cheap. It is attractive because of the metal accents but I used one knife and it was dull after a few cuts. Not hard steel but feels more like aluminum. The paint on the blades will not last long. They were pre-sharpened and will work if you use a light sharpener often but I normally use Japanese steel knives and I cannot use these for comparison. They do look good but aesthetics be damned I need these to cut. Read more

The media could not be loaded. I purchased this knife set because I wanted something that came with a knife sharpener that would make the knife more useful. I used the largest knife to cut chicken. The weight of the knife felt good in my hand, and the quality of the blade and its sharpness made it easier to cut. With all of the different knives to choose from and the sharpener to make sure the knives stay useful longer, I feel that it was worth purchasing. Read more

I was expecting a marble block for the knives, but it's actually painted corrugated tin. Won't stay together, very cheap materials. I don't recommend. The knives are good though and cut well. So if you're looking for a good knife set, this is a pretty good set, just the case is flimsy. Also the handles of knives I would have preferred wood or stainless steel but feels like there is some plastic material instead. Good blades to knives though and cuts food well. Read more
