TL;DR - This 14-piece set offers excellent value for around $130, featuring impressive out-of-the-box sharpness and a clever self-sharpening block. The waved pattern on the blades looks great in the kitchen, and the full-tang construction feels durable. Just remember that the self-sharpening slots are only for the straight blades, not the serrated ones. I honestly love how sharp this D.Perlla knife set is right out of the box. Whether I am chopping vegetables or slicing meat, each blade cuts through practically anything in a single stroke. It is rare to find a set at this price point (around $130) that feels this capable immediately after unpacking. One of the standout features for me is the storage block. It solves the biggest headache of owning kitchen knives because it has built-in ceramic sharpeners inside the slots. You don't have to worry about digging out a sharpening stone or a honing rod. Simply sliding the knives in and out of the block gives them a quick refresh, which helps maintain that precise 15-degree edge without any extra effort on my part. However, it is worth noting that this self-sharpening feature only works on the straight-edge knives; the steak knives and bread knife do not get sharpened by the block. The build quality feels reassuring as well. These are full-tang knives, meaning the steel runs all the way through the handle, which gives them a solid weight and good balance. The handles are made of ABS material that feels secure in the hand, so I don't worry about slipping even when things get busy in the kitchen. Visually, they are a nice addition to the counter. The blades have a waved laser pattern on the steel that gives them a vintage, almost damascus-style look. It is a nice aesthetic touch that makes the set look more expensive than it actually is. Overall, if you are looking for a high-carbon stainless steel set that takes the hassle out of maintenance, this is a fantastic option. It includes all the essentials you need, from the 8-inch chef knife to the kitchen shears, and keeps them ready to use automatically. Pros: Convenience: The built-in ceramic sharpeners in the block make maintenance effortless. Sharpness: The German stainless steel arrives with a razor-sharp 15-degree edge. Design: The waved pattern on the blades is unique and visually appealing. Durability: Full-tang construction ensures the knives are unlikely to break at the handle. Variety: The 14-piece set covers every standard kitchen task. Cons: Sharpening Limitations: The self-sharpening slots do not apply to the serrated items (steak knives, bread knife, and scissors). I recently upgraded my kitchen with the D.Perlla 14-Piece Knife Block Set, and I couldn’t be happier with the purchase. Right out of the box, the presentation is impressive. The knife block looks modern and sleek on the countertop, and the knives themselves have a premium, high-end appearance. The waved texture on the blades gives them a stylish, almost custom feel. Performance-wise, these knives are seriously sharp. The chef’s knife glides through vegetables, meat, and even tougher cuts effortlessly. I’ve sliced tomatoes paper-thin without crushing them, which says a lot. The blades feel well-balanced, and the full tang handles provide a solid, comfortable grip. They don’t feel cheap or flimsy at all. One of my favorite features is the built-in self-sharpening technology in the block. Every time you slide the knives in and out, they maintain their edge. That’s a huge plus because it takes the guesswork out of maintenance and keeps them consistently razor-sharp. The set includes everything I need for everyday cooking — from paring knives to steak knives and kitchen shears. It’s a complete, versatile set that covers all the basics and then some. For the price, especially on sale, this feels like an incredible value. The quality rivals much more expensive brands I’ve used in the past. If you’re looking to upgrade your kitchen tools with something sharp, durable, and visually impressive, this set is absolutely worth it. Read more

This knife set exceeded my expectations. The knives are very sharp and feel solid and balanced in hand with a good grip that doesn't get slippery when wet. They don’t feel flimsy at all, and they’ve handled everything from veggies to meat without issue and are still sharp enough to glide through paper even after 10~ meals being cooked with the main knife. The automatic sharpening feature is a smart addition and makes the set feel more premium. I haven't sent the knives through the dishwasher at all as I prefer to hand-wash my knives, but they feel like they'd do just fine! The scissors aren’t as impressive and feel a bit cheaper, but they’re not the main reason I bought the set anyway. Great value for the quality! Read more

Very nice set of knives, ver good quality the are very sharp and cut through meat very well. I love the design I feel like a real chief when I am using this set. I know it sounds corny but having better tools to cook really makes you feel like the top person in your own space. The knives have good weight and balance to them, in other words they are easy to maneuver. So far I have used them for over a month they have not rusted, changed color, or become dull from use or washes. I like the base it strong and sturdy holds each knife in its place. Rubber on bottom so the base does not move on the countertop. So far great on meat, vegetables, fruit, bread, knife set also comes with scissors that I use to help cutting up the meat. Overall a pretty good set of knives. Read more

What a great upgrade to my kitchen knives. This set is functional and has just about everything I need including kitchen scissors. It's all contained and organized nicely in the block that comes with it. The knives themselves are very sharp and well polished. I love that the steel has the beautiful scrolling designs on them apparently from the polishing (but don't quote me on that). The weight of each piece seems right for the type of knife it is and each is very well balanced. I find them easy to grip with a good shape. My last set of knives had a grip on the steak knives that made it difficult at a glance to tell which way was up and which way was down. Dangerous when there is a blade on the other end! I think this is a beautiful, functional set and a great value. Read more
