VINE REVIEW - Item received for free This 14-piece knife set punches way above its price point and easily beats what you usually find at big box stores for twice the money. As someone who owns both German knives and artisan Japanese knives worth hundreds of dollars (that I tend to baby), these still feel like a genuinely good value and a smart buy. First Impressions Packaging was secure and tidy, with each knife well protected and the block arriving in perfect shape. Out of the box, the blades were fairly sharp and fully ready for kitchen duty. The anti-slip curved handles feel comfortable in hand, and the overall look of the set is clean and modern on the countertop. The chef's knife, in particular, stands out right away as well balanced and confidence-inspiring. Quality The German stainless steel blades feel solid and dependable without being clunky. The chef's knife shows especially good balance between handle and blade, making longer prep sessions easier on the wrist. After about two weeks of regular use, the edges are holding up nicely with no obvious dulling or chipping. The steak knives are good enough to replace an older French-made set that had definitely seen better days. Even with expensive artisan blades in the collection, these do not feel like cheap imposters. Functionality Each knife in the block performs its intended job well, from chopping and slicing to handling everyday prep tasks. The built-in sharpener in the block is there, but it's not being used, sticking instead with preferred sharpening methods for better long-term edge care. Edge retention so far has been solid through normal home cooking: veggies, meat, and general chopping have all been handled smoothly. While labeled dishwasher safe, hand washing is still the better choice for maintaining performance and appearance. Value For someone just starting to build a kitchen or upgrading from a mismatched, dull collection, this set is a great starting point. It delivers performance and looks that feel well above its price bracket, especially when compared to department store sets that cost more and perform worse. Even with experience using pricier artisan Japanese knives (the kind you baby and only bring out for special occasions), this set still earns a thumbs up on value and everyday practicality. Read more

I recently picked up the EWFEN 14-Piece Kitchen Knife Set with Block, and I have to say, it has been quite an experience in my kitchen! First off, the sleek design of the knife block looks great on my countertop. It doesn’t take up too much space, which is a plus. The knives themselves are made from German stainless steel, and I can really tell the difference in quality. They are sharp and cut through everything from vegetables to meats with ease. I love that there’s a built-in knife sharpener right in the block. It’s super convenient and means I can keep the knives in top shape without any extra hassle. I appreciate the anti-slip curved handles too. They feel comfortable and secure in my hand, which is especially important when I’m working on tougher chopping tasks. And the fact that they are dishwasher safe makes clean-up a breeze. Just toss them in after I’m done, and I’ve got more time for other things! Overall, I’m really happy with this knife set. It offers great quality and looks good while doing it. If you’re in the market for a reliable kitchen knife set, I would definitely recommend giving this one a try! Read more
I was pleasantly surprised by this knife set considering its price point. I expected thin, cheap knives, with serrated blades. Instead, you get a thoroughly complete set of elegant knives that even includes a Japanese santoku knife. They all have smooth blades, except for the serrated steak knives (reasonable for those.) The knives have a modern, elegant one piece design where the blades seamlessly blend into the handle. They are lightweight and balanced. The handle is comfortable and grippy, even when wet. The metal will stick to magnetic knife holders. The one piece design makes them effortless to clean (Manufacturer claims they are dishwasher safe, which I believe, but I always hand wash knives to protect their sharpness.) The knives are razor sharp out of the box. I dulled one by dragging it on my concrete patio and brought it back to razor sharpness with my electric knife sharpener. The knife block is well made and looks sharp (yes, a knife pun…) I wouldn’t use the included sharpener; it’s a cheap design, using two angled ceramic rods; more of a honer than a sharpener (it was useless against my patio-dulled knife.) All that said, these are not quality knives for a discerning chef, mainly because they are stamped, not forged steel. But as a starter set or for a casual cook, these are absolutely excellent.
