I received this gift for Christmas. I like the adjustable magnetic base, but it does swivel a small bit when rolling the sharpener. It definitely sharpened the few knives I tried it on. I wish the adjustable base was more stable, but the swivel aspect makes that difficult. I also wish it came with 3000, 6000 grit discs and a strop for more refined sharpening. It's definitely good for someone who doesn't know how to properly use a whetstone. Read more

discs do not last! This sharpener worked great on the first couple of knives then the abrasives on the disk were gone. I have good quality knives that I keep in good shape so I wanted a sharpener that would put a fine edge on them without a lot of work. I saw this design and liked it. You can find these at prices from $20. to $200. I choose this as a good middle of the road price point. Like I said the unit works good but you better be ready to shell a lot of money for replacement heads! Read more
