Stop buying those cheap nail clippers you see at the dollar store or even the more expensive ones elsewhere. The cheapies are just gonna shatter your nails and leave you a burr you need to sand down, and the more expensive ones aren't going to do what these bad boys do. First of all, the fact that they open super wide is a big help with getting them seated right under your toe nails, if you have a difficult time bending to reach your feet or bending your legs to where you can actually trim them easier. Not being spring loaded helps a lot with putting pressure down to cut through the nail, but you won't even need to really do that. The main reason for that being that these puppies are stupid sharp. Take a piece of paper and try to cut it with your old nail clippers. They might do it, but not as clean and as smooth as these will. These will chop through your nail like a hot knife through butter. Because they do such a good job doing that, you don't actually have to worry as bad about the nail you trimmed flying across the room like your old pair will do. Another plus side to the wide opening on the mouth is that you can more easily clean these clippers, if you even need to do that. A neat little trick with these too, if you ever need to trim the end of a zip tie, these will go through it better than a pair of scissors or even a razor blade, leaving it smooth and rounded. Definitely not the intended use for these but hey, a good use is a good use, keep your ties neat and your or someone else's arms unsliced. Read more
NEW REVIEW: Premium clippers and premium priced. The replaced clippers are very well made and work extremely well. Don't hesitate to order. Check them immediately after receiving as my first set had to be returned (see below). The clippers are premium priced and that's for good reason, they're engineered in a very unique way and they work very well - very precise. They allow for very precise clipping and manicuring fingernails is made much easier with this device. Order this item without any qualm. Highly recommended. One star removed for quality control issue, since I had to request a free return through Amazon - which was seamless and simple through the local UPS outlet. Thus the clippers that I now have took much longer for me to receive than they should have. That said, again, this is a very high quality item. ORIGINAL REVIEW OF ITEM THAT WAS RETURNED AND REPLACED: Very elegant design, and at first appearance it seems to be a very high quality product. However when I used it, it was found to have a gap on one side of the blade/cutting end. While the other side cuts very well with a satisfying clip, the other side of the blade is misaligned and only squeezes the nail; it only clips on one side. I wouldn't expect an item which is being sold for more than $15 to have such a basic flaw. I have been using free nail clippers for years and developed one thickened toe nail which was too thick for my "cheapie" nail clipper. I did a fair amount of research and settled on the KOHM clipper. This seems solidly built and accommodates and cuts all nails (within reason) with ease. Compared to previous clippers I have used, this KOHM is a real pleasure to use. Highly recommend!! Read more
