This vest is really warm even without the heating element on. I threw a hoodie underneath it and went out golfing without the need to even turn on the vest. It was perfect for this scenario as well and my arms still had full range of motion without the bulk. It breaks the wind well. Other reviews stated to buy a size larger which I now disagree with. I purchased a size larger and unless you plan on putting it on over a bulky coat, that is probably a mistake (not true if you are still in denial thinking you still wear a large when you are actually extra large). Either way, it was pretty true to fit once I exchanged it for the correct size. I liked it enough to purchase one for my wife. Her only complaint is that it doesn't come in more colors. Read more

I bought this not having a lot of high hopes in it. Boy, was I surprised how good this vest is. Having separate zones and different levels of heating is great. Control panel on your chest is illuminated to indicate the level at which each zone is set to, and you can turn off the illumination to conserve the battery even further. You can really fine tune the heating to your liking. Battery will last about 3 hours on high, which honestly I mostly use to start and then switch to medium. I would imagine you would only run high heat in a very cold climate. I bought another similar battery and I'm good for more than 6 hours of outdoor play at a time. Size and fit seems to be spot on. I have been using it in the fall/winter in the PNW and it just keeps you comfortable at all times. It is not waterproof so I just throw my rain jacket on when the sky opens up. It is absolutely worth the money and I already have several family and friends that bought them on my recommendation and they all are supper happy with them.
