Very impressive little mount! Upgraded Version Review
The media could not be loaded. I purchased the upgraded version of the Lamicall phone mount for my husband. He often makes 2-3 hour drives throughout the week and I also recently upgraded him to an iPhone 15 Pro Max (in an Otterbox case), so he’s no longer able to use his previous method of fitting his phone in his cup holder for ease of access and viewing while driving. Out of the box, this phone mount was impressive. It seems sturdy, reliable, and strong enough for a big phone like the Pro Max as long as you let the adhesive rest up to 72hr before putting your phone in it or applying too much pressure to the mount. They have a little chart in the instructions that shows the strength of the adhesive after applying & before installing your phone that was very helpful in explaining why you need to wait. The adjustable height, adjustable length, 360° swivel base, extra drop down for taller phones, smooth release XL phone clasps, and the ability to fine-tune the viewing angle of your phone are all MAJOR features to this phone holder that I needed to be perfect- and they are so far! Application of the mount took no more than 10 minutes, with fully reading the instructions and advisements included. They also give you an alcohol prep pad/dry wipe packet, so you don’t have to worry about if your dash or windshield aren’t currently spotless or whether or not you’ve got spare isopropyl alcohol! Overall, the Lamicall Upgraded phone mount was definitely worth the purchase. The adjustable base works very smoothly and well when you properly tighten the finger screws so it’s not slipping out of place while driving or with a larger phone. Tips: 1. Swap between the air vent mount clip and the swivel base throughout the year if you experience extreme high or low temperatures. The adhesive on the swivel mount is very good, but with any adhesive there will be issues over time if it’s strained too heavily. It’s just glue, not welded on. 2. When installing the vent clip, you’ll know it’s secure when you hear a single click noise (as per the instructions). I wouldn’t suggest tightening any further. 3. Be sure the mount isn’t blocking your ability to see, or creating any blind-spots, and out of the way of your windshield wiper lever. 4. Most importantly, BE PATIENT. I’ve read plenty of reviews to know it’s better to wait the full 48-72 hrs before fully using the mount, rather than have it fall off mid-drive and risk serious injury. Hopefully this helps!
