So far, so good. Great for the new huge touchscreen dash panels
Tl;Dr - It works! I have intentionally waited a while before posting a review to make sure this held up. I'll be honest, I did not have high hopes for this, especially for my particular application. I've used the vent-clip phone holders for years, and really like them. But I have a new Kia Sportage, and the only option for those is either left-handed by the driver's door where you can't attach a charge cable, or on the right side of the display, basically on the passenger's left knee. So I wanted to try this one to attach it to the display screen behind the right side of the steering wheel. I did not want to put it on the windshield and block my view, and it won't suction to the dash because it's textured. The screen is the only viable option. I tried others, and they were either too bulky and got in the way of the controls or the suction sucked and it wouldn't hold for more than a couple days. I'm happy to report this one has held for several months, even in the GA heat. And in its completely vertical position, it sits back from my steering wheel and controls, and doesn't block my view. I was also a bit concerned with the magnet strength, but it holds very well. However, I do have a case with MagSafe built in, so I'm not sure about the little adhesive rings that came with the holder. The only downside is that on long drives, the phone does tend to get hot because it is slightly above the dash and gets hit by the sun. But I've left my old vent-clip holder attached so I can put it in there and have the AC blow on it for a while. My passengers can also use it for their phone. Overall, this suction-mount phone holder is working great, As long as the suction holds up, it'll be my favorite. Read more
